"It's time to spin the wheel!"
I ended up downloading this game and checking it out. I am really glad I decided to check it out. I loved the music and the voiceover lines, and I thought it was cool that you actually had at least two platforming challenges and different voice lines for a little replayability!
The biggest thing I think you can improve is letting the player spin the wheel! Even if it is just a button that says "Spin" because it gives the player a ton of agency and feels much better.
I was unaware that the player could double jump. It makes sense with the hat twirl, but there were parts I thought were impossible at first because of this. I also think it needs some optimization because the fans on my laptop were absolutely cranking!
Other than that good job! Cool to see someone making a game on Unreal.
I was thinking of doing some optimization, bug fixes & adding more mini-games post-jam.
At first I wanted to add a tutorial level or voice lines giving the player clues, but I didn't have the time ^^"
And, "funfact" ; I did the voiceover lines myself while being sick, drinking throat syrup every few lines.
It was also the first time I tried to do an "alright" english accent- I got laughed at by my friends saying I have a Chinese-English accent
(*While being a french-speaker)
amazing game, I loved everything other than my PC, IT BROKE!
Nice music
Love the UI design and the silly character, I think the platforming challenge is leagues more difficult than the cannon challenge. Also I spun 3 lose time's in a row which was really funny.
The UI design is great! Also the wheel sequences. You really nailed the game show feel!
I loved the spin the wheel part! The game show music and voice acting got me hyped everytime lol. SPIN THAT WHEEL!!!
verryyy coool game! I love the sound and the art style!
cool game! I wished it had a bit more levels
ui, sounds and ofc voice acting are all great, has a bit of a short nature (gets a bit stale) but ofc this is expected. A solid attempt. PS, event ho it is minimalistic i like the atmosphere!
Very fun and well made! The small challenge pool made it a bit repetitive, but it's a lot to ask from a game made in very little time. Great work overall
nice game wished it had more levels
Nice game! It would be nice to have more variety of levels but I understand lack of time. Great job creating it! I like the voice acting haha
I really enjoyed the game! The visuals and gameplay are both very good, and the whole game feels polished overall. The voice acting is especially great and adds a lot of personality and energy to the experience. I also really like the main concept.
The only things I might adjust are the platforming level, which feels a little too long, and the fact that you can’t grab onto ledges — although, to be fair, this isn’t Assassin’s Creed. 😄
I would also consider adding an option to skip the wheel-spinning animation, especially when the result only adds or removes time, because in those cases the same sequence can happen almost immediately again.
Overall, it’s a very fun and well-made game. Great job!
10/10 voice acting ngl
Overall I like the theme and the hat glide mechanic! The music and the Ui were done really well! I like that there's an announcer, and the outcomes are randomized! I ended up getting additional time 3 times in a row but I think the puzzle was bugged so I could not win. The platforming level was a bit long, I think it was better to purposefully lose it.
Thank you for playing !
I know the issue with the Puzzle system; If you fail it one time, there is a chance that it breaks. I didn't have the time to fix it sadly ^^". And, the platforming level being long was kind of a choice, if you one-shot it you can get a win, if not you can either choose to try again or die depending on your remaining time. But that's true that it needs balancing ^^"
I'll have to push a post-jam update with a few fixes & a little rework of the platforming system, but that's for later !
