Nice work, and cute art! I agree with others that the camera controls should be adjusted -- I'd probably have the camera rotate only around the Y-axis, keeping the X-axis locked or at least damped? Not super often you need to be looking directly downwards, or perfectly parallel with the ground.

A simple adjustment to make the gameplay loop more solid might be to have the each weapon grow stronger for each time you span the wheel before getting it. These upgrade point could be 'banked' so that even if you get three bad spins in a row, you know that when you do land on a weapon, all those points will all get dumped into it, and that weapon is going to grow by 3 tiers at once ! Very satisfying. This way, you're encouraged spin the wheel so that your weapons scale to keep up with enemies, but you're also forced to learn the particular playstyle demanded by each weapon. Just an idea!

Good stuff!

The super long cooldown on some of the weapon upgrades is so punishing! Made me not want to spin the wheel, and just kill stuff with the default weapon instead. Great work, I will not be visiting the Fart Realm.

Thanks for your review! Also good game! I really liked the 2.5d you went for. Your nephew  def has some good potential in art. Good luck in your next projects!

The movement felt really satisfying, and I could it working well in a platformer. The sound effects were great too. The camera controls felt a bit weird at times. Nice work!

The movement was very fun, I liked being able to jump and dash. The camera didn't bother me too much, I though it was a unique take on controls, but I wish there was some kind of a boss to fight. Maybe you need 50 gems to unlock him?

Developer

Oh that's a great idea, Maybe you can buy boss battles that'll unlock new powers for the crank

Nice game overall. The sensitivity was a bit too high and imo the gameplay cycle has a bit room for improvement. Audio though and theme integration were great. Good work!

Developer

Thanks for playing and commenting!

I was thinking about having the megalith move everytime you crank but I couldn't decide when exactly it should move, but that would force you to go explore the space more and take time in between spins , but I want you to be able to see the symbol, so yea I agree I didnt quite get it

I found  camera movement a bit weird or maybe sensivity is too high :/ but otherwise art style is looks amazing. I like idea of mixing vampire survivors  mechanic  with slot machine to get power-ups. Very nice game overall ^^

The camera movement could be a bit smoother. Could you make it move more freely in every direction? You could also use the mouse wheel for zooming.

Developer

Thanks for the suggestion! I knew the camera was off but I couldnt name why. The new build is up and running. I think it feels better now

Nice result :)
The lighting was a bit.. bright for me (Not sure if intendet, but it was like flashbangs all around me^^)

Good work.

Developer

Ah geez, lighting in builds has been such a hard thing for me. Everyone has different hardware and doing robust settings to handle that in jams is so hard. I'm gunna try tho lol

Thankfully its saturday and Juniper is giving us the whole day for these sorts of fixes, lets see if i can make it happen
