Very stressful, but thoroughly enjoyed! Great work!
Surprisingly addictive! It was a bit hard to grasp the minigames at first but once I did I was hooked.
Very cool! I love the mechanics and a little twist with the upgrades. Although I don't know if I played too much or not but at some point when the third row of numbers start to appear they clipped through the screen so I couldn't really read them. But other than that awesome game!
Very satisfying if a little stressful!
Sometimes wasn't sure why it had reset me to the start of a combo, didn't think I had gone the wrong way but maybe just oversensitive?
Yeah I think I overtuned the sensitivity a bit! I'll try to tweak that once the jam is over! Thanks for playing though
my god this was a very fun game i really enjoyed it
Fun and addictive take on the theme with great feedback and progression. Controls can feel a bit sensitive and UI gets unclear at times, especially later on. Still a very solid and creative entry, I enjoyed it.
Thats a fun interpretation of the theme^^
Definetly didn't stress me out xD
Good work there. U feel the pressure of the time what can make u nervous.
One thing that felt a bit unfair sometimes. the wheel was very sensitive to ur mouse movement, and when there was a change of direction, but u moved the mouse jsut slighty in the wrong direction it instantly count as failure and u get resetted. There maybe a little bit of player friendly behavior could give it a bit more polished feeling.
But overall, good job :)
really quick to pickup! Good one!
I love this! Super easy to just jump right into it and play it. The perks were also simple enough to understand what you're getting. The sound of turning the lock was satisfying too. All in all great game!
Gotta love how the non gambling game is the most addictive one of them all lol, I even got the off screen numbers
Woah that's even farther than I was able to make it lol! When I get to off screen numbers I tend to take the blindfold upgrade and just feel it out from there, but that's incredible! Great job! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for playing!
I really like the idea! It's simple but effective and addictive! Great game!
Thank you so much! That's pretty much exactly what I was going for!
Super cool game! I loved the gradual upgrades and the music was really well done.
Thank you so much for playing! I appreciate it!
I really enjoyed this game, very frantic but fair! I was pretty bad at the mechanic so I kept losing but overall this game is still enjoyable to me, I especially like the style the game takes as its very techy but also a bit grungy in appearances which I think builds a great contrast. Good work!
Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed! I definitely think there's still room for work in terms of communicating to the player what is asked of them. Probably would help to ease the player into the mechanics with less friction. Thank you though!
This was really fun and intense! Another metagame gear for my collection! Unfortunately when I got to level 14 I had to quit because the combo was more than 20 numbers and they went off the screen and I could not see them any more. Bummer, I would have loved to play more, you did a really great job with this game.
Thank you for playing! Yeah that's one of the pain points I ran into during my testing too, just ran out of time in the end to implement an elegant solution to continually displaying numbers for the user. I was kind of thinking things could get more chaotic and the numbers started appearing in random parts of the screen, but I did not get around to implementing that. I'll try to button that up after the ratings period has ended. Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm really impressed with how the difficulty of the core game mechanics was implemented, both in that it required me to be specific with how I turned and that it allowed a little leeway if I accidentally went the wrong direction for a click or two. Everything worked really well together, and the clicking sound is really satisfying. The only thing I'd argue could be improved is the background music loop, if only because it's very short.
Thank you! I appreciate that! I did not want it to be too difficult for players and wanted to give some grace because the mechanics can be confusion especially at later levels.
Music is definitely one of my weaker areas in terms of my development toolbox. I wanted things to come out more on the arcade side, but I think I leaned a bit too heavily into the repetition.
Regardless though, thank you for playing! I'll be making more updates after the ratings period has ended.
Very unique game! The visuals were clean and the whole game reminded me of actually getting my real life locker combination in high school years ago; the feeling every run that pretty much would make or break your entire year haha. The sound design was clean and I think the ramp in difficulty was gradual enough while not being a cakewalk the whole time.
Something broke inside me when I saw the numbers be math equations instead of singular numbers. You are a monster ( still love the game).
Thanks for playing! The high school locker experience is exactly what I was going for. Especially in later levels when you need to unlock it, grab your stuff and run to your next class.
LOL, the math equations were a last minute addition. At first they were a bit too frequent in the later levels so I toned them down a bit, but I do think they are quite funny to experience when you get to them
Really enjoyed it. Loved the visuals and the sound design.
Thanks so much for playing! Glad you enjoyed it!
The game is really well designed, very well thought out with the Gem Jam theme.
Thank you so much for playing!
Very cool codebreaker game, excellent use of the theme. My one pain point was that the indicator arrow being straight made it hard for me to process which direction I needed to go. If it was a curved arrow, I think that would have helped a lot, but this is a good entry!
Metagame cog 14/125
Thanks so much for playing! Definitely good feedback! That was definitely something on my mind while I was writing the UI. I'll try to make an update after the submission period to refine it a bit
One of the most unique uses of the theme I've seen so far! Had no idea what was going on at the beginning but I'm so glad I stuck with it. The relatively simple gameplay was well-polished and engaging. I only found a minor bug, which was that sometimes the numbers would turn green but not be clickable (I think this happened when two numbers spawned right next to each other, but I'm not sure). Ended up making it so far that the combos were pushed entirely offscreen. Great entry!
Thank you for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I agree that the onboarding / tutorial could be better. I will take a closer look for that bug though as I'm sure there's stuff I missed while testing. I also think there's room for improvement with the communication of numbers when they get off screen. At the moment they kind of just keep going, there should be a proper success state should you make it that far.
