I like the art style! The pixel art looks great! Definitely didn't expect it to be a 2.5D game, but I think you guys made it work really well! I like how the sprite flips in 3D!

Personally, I feel like the player and enemies are moving a bit too fast, which caused aiming to be a bit difficult. The gameplay is still really fun though!

Pretty fun!

Really nice game! I really like the 3D plus 2D kind of graphics and the way the sprite flips when you aim the other way, the juice and the audio effects are nice too. Good job :D

Great game! I like the different enemies and upgrades, and the art is very good too. I do think the boss (mainly the lightning attack) was too difficult. The game is so addicting. Well done!

Fun game, good job to the team.

Cute little game.

Really fun game! I like the idea of starting with a random powerup, makes it fun to try over and over! It was a bit brutal tho, because I started with the 1-hp, 200% damage thing. I grabbed a healthpack, but still got oneshotted which was a bit MEAN in my opinion. It would be nice with a lose-screen as well, but I get that it's hard to do all that in just a week.

Normal enemies felt very clean and balanced, great job on that, but the boss was a bit hard I think.  I  managed to reach the first boss twice and the lightning attack was SO fast. My second run I managed to spin away from it a couple times, but ended up dying anyway in the end because the boss was just attacking a bit too fast for me. Other than that, I think the game was great! Good job making it in only 7 days!

I also noticed this little thing, just thought I would let you know!

Developer

thank you for that little bug you found!
and obviously, thanks for the feedback! The 1hp power up was one of the things i brainstormed at the start of the jam, didn't really fit with the game as we made it pretty difficult to not get shot one way or another (especially against a boss lol), but we kept it nonetheless, maybe it was a bad call.

Balancing everything was a bit hard mostly because we wanted to make the bosses difficult, without them becoming impossible, and maybe that was not the best idea for a 7 days game (the thunder initially was even faster) , but the most important thing is that you liked it!

Pretty fun, could use more polish!

What a silly- er, I mean SERIOUS twin-stick shooter.  Controls feel good, but it needs something; screen shake when you get his or something.  Hitting the enemy's need some better feel and feedback would also help add some pop to the game.

Cute game!

I love the pixel art in the game, very cute! Died really fast to that boss haha. I think some different sound effects for different bullet types and some minor screen-shake would add a lot to this game!

i like the artstyle of the game it is really nice, and the game feel is also pretty good i would have loved some better sound effects and a better main track, overall cool game i think the theme implementation was not as significant but good game

I really like the way the sprites flip even when they're turning around, it looks slick. I like the 2.5d look of the game but it made it kinda hard to aim at enemy's because of the perspective. I think the "camera" could be slightly more top down and it would be easier to shoot, like maybe 2.3d

This was a fun and charming action game. I really liked the 2D sprites in a 3D space, it gave the game a cool 2.5D look that stood out a lot. The movement and shooting felt good, the music was solid, and I liked the idea of using the spin as part of combat and dodging.

My main feedback is that the game could use clearer feedback and more juice. Sometimes it was hard to tell when bullets or spins were actually damaging enemies, and kills could feel more satisfying with stronger sound effects, animations, or VFX. The difficulty also felt a little uneven, with the waves being pretty manageable and then the boss suddenly becoming much harder. Still, this is a really good start and I could see it becoming super fun with more polish.

I had fun with it. I would've liked more frequent ways to upgrade, and some feedback could have been clearer. It felt a little weird spinning into the blue guys and getting dragged around, I wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing but it was the only way to deal with them? Similarly, spinning into the small red shooting guys that you killed with shooting made a noise but I'm not sure what that was signifying.

I did like the art style and 2.5D vibes, movement felt good, shooting felt good, needed some more juice for satisfying kills.

Difficulty curve felt odd, was overly easy for the waves then suddenly the boss shows up spamming big damage all over.

Overall, a good start for something that could be super fun.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! we wanted to put more juice but we had so many bug it was difficult to polish every aspect of the game. Especially the spinning enemies, which we wanted to bounce off of you when they die, but they sometimes take the wrong direction and the lack of sound makes it difficult to understand that you killed them.

Very nice gameplay and interesting use of the theme. I really liked it and really enjoyed the music

I liked the style of 2d pixel art + 3d. Sometimes it was unclear if any bullets were working or not but overall a fun game!

Developer (1 edit)

Yeah, I think one of the main issues with the game, is that we didnt manage to give enough feedback to the player about the actions made or on what is happening.

Nice work!

Nice work! This is a fun concept and I like the idea of a bullet-hell where you can get an i-frame with the 'spin'. The biggest thing I want to see is more juice! Some actions have either weak or unclear feedback. For example, sound, animation, and/or vfx cues would make hitting enemies feel way more satisfying! Cool game overall :)

I love the art and music. the game is just fun and choas, chaos! (Jevil)
