The car controlled great, drifting was really fun. I just wish the meter filled up a tiny bit faster when drifting. Hitting enemies with the spin attack feels pretty rewarding, even if it’s a bit difficult to do at first.
That was very good! Driving felt really smooth and satisfying by itself already, I didn't realize at first that there was more to do than just driving around but I already enjoyed myself simply driving around so finding the big robot was just a good surprise.
I am slightly conflicted about the color sceme though, while it looks very pretty it also makes it a little difficult to see where to go and I smashed into a couple walls aswell because I couldn't quite see how close they were, but this is a very minor thing because smashing into the walls was kinda fun by itself too :P
Great job!
Tried to fix that but didn't have enough time. I wanted to have a noise texture as you might be able to see in the big render i put at the top of the page. Thank you for playing the game
Play by play! I saw this is in the discord and am going to play it for a bit!
This is good little entry! Had fun with it and it's nice to have some metal whilst playing for once ;)
Thanks for playing and glad you enjoy. We realised last minute that people might not download the game so we made a web version. Unfortunately the web version doesn't include the pre-generated shaders so that's why it's lagging.
This game feels like a Mad Max movie with robots. Great job.
i imagine it was hard to make car controller, but it controls so smoothly, i hope someday i will be able to make a controller like this, you can basically make nfs or gta wit these controls, it was satisfying to hit the boss sometimes, good job!
Very awesome and neat! I did clip through the ground though after the little enemies hit me and I was gone forever D:
Cool concept, wasn't sure how to get my spin attack back after using it some
Driving and drifting both felt surprisingly excellent considering the time / browser limitations. Reminded me of some of those old online racing games - need for madness? Visuals also very nice and combat was satisfying - great submission
I love the idea and drifting physics! This is a great base for possibly an amazing arcade vehicular combat game, something like carmageddon, twisted metal etc.
Really, I adore this concept so much. I didn't finish it as I sadly had no idea how to replenish boost/spin meter, but it's still one of the best games I've played during this jam.
unfortunately it appears it wasnt clear enough (it's in the controls and on the page) that you refill your boost by drifting or killing the little dudes. i was however very inspired by carmageddon
Oh that makes sense! Sorry that I've missed it. Might have to give the game another chance later when I get back from work.
any feedback is welcome. i love learning from mistakes. i should have been more up front with the mechanics, overestimated how much time people are willing to give a single one of 3100 submission
The car combat idea is really good, fun to play, nice use of sound, a little too loud at some places though. Maybe add some more attack in future not just spin, love the style, a minor issue is that the robot was able to shoot through walls.
Over all really good game, enjoyed it.
project too ambitious, we didnt get to fix that bug. i was happy enough with what we managed to accomplish. thank you for playing
The driving and drifting physics were fun, was a few instances though with the boss where they could shoot through walls etc. Also sometimes where i felt like the spin attack wasn't connecting when i feel like it should of but that's just a minor thing. Overall its a nice game!
it was certainly very ambitious, if we had done it in a top down view then it would have been easier to make hits connect. see our other game https://koala-dev.itch.io/strafing-run
Really like the visuals and the driving physics. Would like to be able to just mow down the small bots without needing to spin attack, could be very fun.
had to incorporate the "spin to win" theme but i agree. doesn't seem this got enough attention for us to chase it into a full game
