Very fun beyblade game! I especially liked how they handled, a lot of games with similar concepts tend to make the beyblade too hard to control, but yours felt great! Good job!
Yeah a pretty big focus for me was a simplistic control scheme for the sake of making the multiplayer more accessible and easy to understand.
This was great!! Love the challenge of the final level! Great work!
Thanks!
I had a lot of fun with this one! It's really fun to just blast the other guys off the arena. The final boss guy was pretty tough but not too crazy, really well balanced.
Glad to see you enjoyed it!
"Spam move to rip" doesnt tell me what move is so i had difficultly playing but once I figured it out it was a neat little game
Yeah I should've added an actual tutorial but kinda forgot lol
ahhh no worries me too lol
Wow! I had envisioned something like this while making my bay blade game but couldn't pull it off lol. Awesome work! I have noticed that in some playthroughs, when colliding the game freezes for a few seconds. That happened to me too, Idk how you wanna tackle the problem but I simply removed the hit freeze. Still a very amazing addition to the jam!
Glad you enjoyed it! I think the stuttering is because godot only compiles particles the first time they are used, and I added some sparks to collisions. I probably shouldve added some sort of manual shader comp in a loading screen, but it completely slipped my mind lol.
Great! So far my favorite beyblade-like game, you made a lot of levels and I liked most of them, I managed to make it to the end.
Well done!
Thanks!
nice
Cool game and great usage of the theme.
I needed a bit to get into the controls, because you sometimes don't really know why you get dragged in a certain direction. Also, the bots sometimes can get stuck in a corner and its really hard to get them out of it, especially the big one in the last level. The full screen is lagging for me, I don't know why, so i played it in the small window.
I couldn't really test out the multiplayer mode, but I think, that one would be even more fun. Good job to add that as well in this short duration of the jam.
Once I got into the controls, I really had fun playing the game. Keep it up! :)
Thanks! The ai I spent a while tweaking but couldn't find a good solution for. I did have a plan to potentially prioritize them finding boost pads, but I didn't have enough time for it sadly.
Awesome game! I find the lack of balance amusing and fun for the most absurd of reasons; in this world it's yeet or be yeeten. The true spirit of game jams tbh. Would love to see this with a sort of endless arcade mode with random or proc gen maps!!
Originally I wanted to do an endless arcade mode with stat upgrades, but it didn't end up panning out sadly.
I like the game, been the one I played for the longest so far I believe.
Biggest issue is that some of the level layouts feel unfair since the computer players spawn right infront of a booster pointing at you, which feels cheap
Thanks! I agree with the level design issue, I had to rush the arcade mode levels out in like an hour due to time restrictions.
