Amazing little game with a unique artstyle! I really liked this one! I myself have gotten a lot of feedback saying I needed to include a tutorial so seeing your tutorial really inspired me because of how un-intrusive it is.
Once again the artsyle is unique and the music is good. Unfortunately I had some big frame drops when destroying enemies but that could just be a me thing.
The ui and system is sooooooo beautifully crafted, I cant get over how professional this looks. It looks very yoshi's island!
Words cannot describe how polished this game feel and how much of a unique voice it has. The gameplay is simple yet fun!
Thank you for playing! Yeah, the problem about creating a tutorial is it takes a long time xD
Really fleshed out UI! I love the visuals and it's a good game!
Thank you! yeah I was trying to do a little weido kind of UI (I'm mainly a UI/UX of software company, so coming here doing arts after so long retiring game dev)
Fellow Godot enjoyer, what can I say. Art is great, menu and game design is amazing, really polished overall. Loved this game!!
Same goes to yours!! Tutorial and gameplay to end is top notch!
The art is so so unique love it! Definitely a cool way to add the spin theme into the game!
I absolutely adored the art! It's super cute and super well drawn. Everything else is also quite polished, from the audio, game feel, UI, to the mechanics. All in all, really well made and very fun. Great job!
Thank you! You can achieve the BGM if you use midi, and changed the tune + drum. The transition can be better but yeah time was an issue. And thanks for playing!!
very cool art style very cool sound design very cool character very cool mechanic
very great game
I'm in love with the art style. You did a really great job of evoking the printed page (the half-tone screens as shading really sell the aesthetic!). There are also lots of little pieces of flair that might go unnoticed (the fact that your kaiju announces its stomp move with a different name each time, for example) that really work well together. And all of the kaijus are adorable.
I played through several rounds and I also found the progression system to feel like it was tuned really nicely. I got obliterated on some of the early waves (maybe because I didn't yet fully understand what the spin thing was all about), but then seeing my kaiju grow up and survive more waves was really satisfying.
The sound design is also great. The music is a perfect fit for the theme, and I love the way it shifts into battle mode when you send a new wave.
All-in-all, there's a fun core loop here, and a lot of polish for a one-week project. Fantastic work!
