This is a really relaxing game!  I made it to day ten, and would have gone for another fishing trip if I wasn't trying to get last minute ratings in!  I'll return after to see if I can complete the collection.   The art and sound in this game is really fantastic!  You have good fitting sound effects for everything, and I really like how the pitch increased as you hit the targets.  The difficulty progression in this game is really nice, and I really like casting further is how you gate it.

I think the one thing that would have improved my experience was showing where the sweet spot is when you are casting.  I figured out it seems to be in the middle, but I couldn't get consistent results.

Awesome job!

It would be more fun if the quick time events were faster! But its ok

Cool game! Reminded me of webfishing. Very chill vibes with the music. Gets quite hard to meet the quota pretty quickly but I might have chosen the wrong upgrades. But that adds to the replayability. The fish collection, too. The art is really nice.

Really fun game! Would recommend adding an indicator for the casting sweet spot and replacing the movement speed upgrades with upgrades that make the reel in minigame easier.

I enjoyed it a lot. adding a survival element to a cozy game was a nice spin!

The visuals are A+ for sure! The music is calm and fits as well, the "collection" part is engaging as well, makes one play more to collect all the fish! 🐟
Overall, nice asthetics and mechanics are simple but neatly done!

The visuals and the music is pretty but game is too repatative and slow after some time it just kills the desire if its maybe just a little faster and diffrent paths it could be better

That was fun! I was really impressed by the high quality of the pixel art and animations. The background music also blended in perfectly, creating a pleasant atmosphere. Filling up the fish collection is definitely one of the game’s highlights. Great job!

I do enjoy a fishing minigame in my games... This was very cool. The visuals and audio are really nice and the gameplay loop is addicting. Good job!

This was a super fun game! I haven't made it to the end yet, but I will try again in the evening. :) I really enjoyed the minigame, the upgrades were quite cool and loved the music.

Hello! I've fully played trough your game and decided to write a lengthy review, hope you don't mind :)
Let's start of from the things I liked:

1. The roguelike upgrade mechanics were very well tuned and fun.

2. The catching fish minigame is quite addicting

3. Nice visuals and relaxing audio

4. The difficulty is also well balanced, I had to focus without wanting to quit too much. I beat the game in ~5 attempts, most ended by day 5.

Some problems I encountered:

1. The casting mechanic was by far the most annoying thing in the game. I still haven't figured out what I need to do to cast consistently :/  . Releasing on the lowest, highest or mid points seem to not work, but the 75% mark seems to be more reliable. And even still, it was quite random and annoying.

2. The waiting animations get annoying pretty fast too, specifically waiting for a fish to catch and the fish being thrown into the pot (I lost once because the day finished before the animation).

3. This one is quite small, but the walking speed upgrades are mostly useless. It takes less than a second to from the pot to shore (the one at the bottom is the closest) with no upgrades witch is a small time anyway. Walking became just another annoying animation and I didn't use a single speed upgrade.

Overall I found your game quite fun! I used the word "annoying" quite a lot, because I found lot's of things that seemed just an unintentional distraction from the (what I assume) is the main mechanic, the "spinning radar catcher thing :)". Still one of the best games I played in this jam, well done!

I also noticed our upgrade selection menus are very similar, maybe you'd like to check it out ;) https://blujuice.itch.io/tour-billion

Nice visuals, chill vibes. Intense fishing! Like the roguelike elements! One thing i gotta say is the jittery camera was a turn off but i endured.

The game is very pretty and the fishing works smoothly. Sadly I lost my  runs on day 3 when I had to get 25 energy, because I only caught sardines and other low value fish :(( I'm not 100% sure what I did wrong, because I think I did catch fishes very fast, but maybe it wasnt a good strat to go for the day-extension upgrades. Maybe it would be nice to not have a criteria right in the beginning, and maybe something happens story-wise where you have to catch more and more fish, like maybe more people get stranded or an animal comes that you have to feed as well :O These are just things I thought about, but can't expect all this in just a weeks gamejam haha, amazing job on getting a playable game so fast!

Fishing roguelike is an awesome idea, and you executed it very well. I liked the different levels of fish, and (presumably) how upgrading to further reel lengths will allow you to get fish with more and more energy. I also like that you tied movement speed, round time, reel length, and energy per fish to the end-of-round upgrades.

I could not for the life of me get past round 4. I just kept getting sardines and anchovies. I know I'd been fishing a lot, but I didn't think I killed all the clown fish already... :(  Having some indication of what sides of the island are better to fish in for the day (or moment-by-moment, it could change throughout the day) would be helpful and give me a reason to walk to locations that weren't just immediately south of the cooking pot (quickest travel time :)). I also reeeeallly wish that any unspent energy carried over to the next day; it gives the player more opportunity for decision-making and doesn't punish them for having leftover energy that isn't a multiple of 5. For example, I absolutely would have foregone some basic-tier upgrades in favor of guaranteeing that I could make it past the next round.

You've got something really cool here, I could totally see it being a full game on Steam! Trying to collect all the fish and striving to get off the island is a really satisfying game loop.
