I love the mechanic complexity this offers. However, I do feel the tutorial is a bit vage... Even with the extra tips, I still dont know exactly how everything works. Also, the tinker experience could be better by being able to move entire trees and having a "clear" button (ngl i did have gears get stuck in the middle and dont know how to get them out).
Really cool game
Thanks for feedback, I appreciate it! You're totally right. I hope we'll find time to make it actually... More like a real game:)
Gears in the middle are bugged (((( I think, it would be better not to allow to use this feature until player has an access to the chains. It's for changing gear ratios with chains.
A lot of spinning here for sure! It was hard to grasp the mechanics at first but I appreciated the effort of putting a well-thought tutorial. Good entry!
A couple of tips, since our tutorial turned out to be a bit too vague:
Every Gear is essentially a small spell that activates whenever its red tooth reaches the top.
The important part is that Aim and Modifier Gears only affect Weapons they're directly meshed with. If two gears aren't touching each other with their teeth, they don't interact.
One more thing that isn't obvious at first: while editing your workshop, you can press Q and E to rotate the starting position of a Gear's red tooth.
This doesn't change what the Gear does - it changes when it activates. That timing is often the difference between a weak setup and a strong one.
For example, two rotating Weapons can accidentally keep shooting the same four lanes forever, leaving the diagonals undefended. Shift the timing a little, and suddenly one covers the cardinal directions while the other covers the diagonals. Small timing changes can make a huge difference, so don't be afraid to experiment!
When I thought I got it, I didn't, but that didn't deter me from having a great time! It really got my brain cogs spinning (to no avail but they did spin). Great concept, pretty original, good job people!
Thank you I appreciate the feedback. Btw, I wrote some tips in comments, like an additional tutorial, you can reveisit it if you want:)
Great game! The premise is very spinny, the gameplay is strategic and yet chaotic to behold during a round, and the many of the cogs have very creative ideas behind them (such as the fibonnaci cog). I really enjoyed the game!
The game is really fun!
I think it could really benefit from having a tutorial (I couldn't figure out how to play at first).
Thank you) We've fixed sOmE bUgS and now the tutorial is available!
