How is this game a platformer, what spin does it bring to the genre?
PET THREAT! is a 2D platformer that has simple platforming mechanics like running and jumping, and has extended platforming mechanics such as gliding, dashing, etc, are exclusive to each pet you hold, but you are only able to hold one pet at a time.
What theme does this game use? also explain how you implemented the theme
This game relies on the theme Metamorphosis. The theme was implemented by focusing on the idea that you own mystical pets that can evolve and grant you different special abilities at higher evolutions.
Did you use any AI or PREMADE assets in this game?
Yes, AI was used ONLY to assist in modifying the game code. None of the assets included (code, sprites, music, soundfx) were prepared for this game jam beforehand.

I had a lot of fun playing it but couldnt complete it,the staircase part with the spikes is very tedious maybe you could checkpints after each steps,also more animations would be nice, theres no SFX but i think that would greatly benefit the experience and the theme music is too low,i could barely hear it,maybe try upping it. It would be nice if your colour changed depending on the ability of the pet you used. overal nice game but needs some polishing.
