Oh this is very fun. Really makes me feel like i am legally distinct beyblade.

I had to struggle with turning on my pc to play this one but it was worth it. Visual aesthetic and the music tracks are sick, the gameplay is very fun and i picked it up easy but had a lot of fun figuring out how i could play with the movement options. It would've been really cool to see a way you could sorta 'slam down' on the opponents Pegasus style, especially with the jump.

Drum parts were soooo nice, loved the way the music would change when you got the disc power up; i do wish some of the sfx were a bit less reverby, and that some of the tracks looped cleaner, but those by no means ruined the audio or the game. Superb job!

Admittedly, I did struggle with this game. I didn't understand if I was supposed to complete a track like a racing game or if I was supposed to smash enemies or what.

But after a few deaths, I figured that the point was to kill enemies, and I started smashing into other tops, and that was pretty great! Getting knocked off the center platform only to land in some other plane was actually super fun. I know there are a lot of entries with tops or Beyblade-like things, but I've never seen one with maps so large and synthetic. That part alone is super cool. Really loved the map designs.

It wasn't super for me, but it looks like a lot of people enjoyed it, and I can tell a lot of time and love went into making this. I wish you all the accolades. :)

Developer

Thanks for keeping at it and your kind words :) We did in fact put a lot of time and love into it :) thanks for that!

Oke that was actually pretty freakin great! It gave me ALL the endorphins and also ran smoothly on my not very great computer.

Good job, great game!

Developer

YIPPIE I'm glad you enjoyed it. Our team made sure to add potato graphics options and other optimizations so it could run on lower end devices (like mine).

Very cool game! It's really different from the others of its kind, and the art and music are incredible. Great job! :D

Thank you!!!

Thank you so much Gumgio!

Pretty satisfying to just zoom around and smash into others! I didn't win (if you can) but had a good time

Developer

You can win! Glad you enjoyed though :D

I spin. The enemys spin. We are. Spun. This game really captures what the life of a Spinner is all about. The aesthetics are great and theres a big learning curve when it comes to movement. great game!

Thank you purrfect! keep on spinning friend!

Okay it turns out 6 minutes is a pretty long time. I got significantly better each time I attempted to survive this absolute gauntlet. Finding the right moment to overcome inertia I thought proved the be the hardest challenge, but that's pretty unique and also makes sense for a game about spinning tops. Love the drum & bass synth soundtrack and the 80's retro future graphical style. Cool you guys got extra modes and such in there too, pretty impressive work for a week's time.

Developer

Thank you so much!!!! Also I struggle to survive the full 6 minutes too. Def a lot longer than people think.

In regard to the music, I took heavy inspo from Ultrakill, drum & bass tracks, and jazz-synth wave fusion to pull the soundtrack together. Had a blast working on this one!

A well executed and polished beyblade entry!

  • 2 gamemodes x 2 maps to have fun with
  • Realistic beyblade physics, you can feel the weight and inertia when controlling
  • Excellent audio design
    • Soundtracks are cool and fit the neon visual style well
    • SFXs are very responsive to the states of the beyblade, based on velocity, collision, landing, etc.
    • Using the CD item actually affects the soundtrack

The fundamentals are solid so all you need is just more features!

  • Bump to multiplayer
  • More maps, and maybe some sort of progressive levels
  • A speedrun gamemode on reaching the flag as fast as possible.
  • Btw the item collecting SFX is missing :3

Perfectly executed review thank you so much!

Very good beyblade game ! The game is very polished , the sound design, the artistic direction, the gamefeel , everything is good ! It could be even better to have a customisation system to change the stats of our spinner or just having multiples differents skins to unlock !
Congratulation !

Developer

We’re hoping to add skin customization in the future!

The game, the color scheme, the juice. It's all beautiful. Just need a little multiplier, but this is super fun!

This reminds me of trying the surf maps on Counterstrike a bit. Except I can kinda do this better. Tough and unforgiving course design. I had fun with it. Great submission!

Developer

Thank you for playing!

This game rocks!  It's a ton of fun, you have great audio and visual feedback and great style!  I agree with many here that this could make a really killer multiplayer game if ya'll want to branch into learning multiplayer!

Two pieces of feedback from me:  The camera sensitivity on controller is very high and it made it pretty difficult to play.  Turning it down a bit would be great, but a sensitivity option would be even better.

I absolutely love how this game sounds, Mya did an outstanding job with both the sounds and the music.  If you want to push it over the top however, I would look into increasing the sound variety a bit.  This game has only a few actions that repeat a bunch and it seems like there is one sound effect for each.  For common actions that the player is going to be hearing a often you want to try and have two or three different sound effects so that a repeated sound doesn't overstay its welcome.  However even if you only have one sound effect, you can randomize the pitch a tiny bit each time it plays and that does a lot of heavy lifting for a tiny bit of work.  You don't need any special middleware to do it either, in Unreal sound cues you can add a modulator node in and it'll make your game feel even better.

Awesome job!  I'd love to see more from ya'll!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback!!! We have some variation for hitting other spinners depending on your velocity, but I might change those a a bit to sound more distinct.

Damn this game is actually really good. I ended up replaying over and over. Multiplayer would be a blast in this game for sure

Developer

thank you!! And yes I agree, multiplayer is high priority on our list of things to add

After re-playing this game a bit on and off, I will say that  I wish the game had a multiplayer mode. Its still really good.

Developer(+1)

we hope to add multiplayer!

I had a blast playing this game, so smooth!

Love the aesthetic! Ramming into other tops and making them fly felt satisfying. I think moving the keybinds for dash and turbo to the mouse buttons can make the controls more intuitive.

Developer(+1)

thanks for your feedback! I’m glad you enjoyed our entry

Beautiful looking game, really nice to see AI enemy tops, but I wish there was a more structured mode besides coin collect, like a campaign of sorts. I also enjoyed the different enemy types, powerups, and the fact you can go SO FAST. Super fun and chill entry!

Developer

Thank you!

The game is well crafted and the retrowave vibe works really nicely! The visuals are clean, and honestly, managing to fit in two game modes along with different maps within such a tight timeframe is impressive! Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! We barely managed to cram multiple maps and modes in the final day.

Developer(+1)

Thanks Kuma! Our devs came in clutch thats for sure! thanks for noticing that :)

Submitted(+1)

Very polished. I enjoy it. We need coop or multiplayer!!

Developer

Thank you! Multiplayer is the plan for a full release
