How is this game a platformer, what spin does it bring to the genre?
Nocturne Ascent is a 2D platformer focused on jumping, dashing, wall movement, hazards, and vertical flight. The main spin is that the platforming is framed as a vampire chase: the player shifts from grounded platforming into aerial pursuit, while the daughter creates obstacles and changes the rhythm of the level.

What theme does this game use? also explain how you implemented the theme
The theme is a vampire father chasing his daughter before dawn. I implemented it through the characters, gothic visuals, dialogue, and a level structure that moves from dark indoor platforming to a final upward flight sequence. The mechanics also support the theme by making the chase feel urgent and emotional.

Did you use any AI or PREMADE assets in this game?
Yes. Some visual assets were created or assisted with generative AI and then edited for the game. The game also uses premade or edited sound effects. The gameplay code, level design, integration, and final implementation were made specifically for this project.

Interesting concept. I liked to swap different gameplay mechanism. I suggest to put some how-to controls on screen for first time in each challenges

Thank you so much for playing my game and for the helpful feedback! I'm really glad you enjoyed the concept and the gameplay mechanics.

You're absolutely right about the on-screen controls. I think that's a great suggestion, and I'll definitely add proper instructions the next time.

Unfortunately, I'm still a college student, and this game jam happened to overlap with my finals week, so I didn't have enough time to polish the game as much as I wanted. Even so, I really appreciate you taking the time to play it and leave such thoughtful feedback. Thank you!
