Interesting theme! The cats are so well drawn ^-^ though the spinning sentences get lost with the rest of the UI as more of them appear. Also the game waits for the timer to get over to move to the next question irrespective of the fact that all sentences have been used. Overall I really enjoyed this ^-^ great concept hope y'all work on it further!

Thank you! I too love how the kitties turned out :3 Honestly surprised, I haven’t drawn animals basically ever

True. I think changing to a higher pixel density would’ve helped. That way we could have shrunk the UI a bit more so it doesn’t interfere with the phrases. Also yeah we didn’t implement it auto-submitting the response, though it was planned. At least you can submit manually ig

Thank you for playing and glad you enjoyed it :>

I really liked this. It took me until question 5 to really see the game play though

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you! The first 5 questions are tutorial questions, so that means they must've worked lol.

I really like this concept, and the art goes great with it too! I feel like the gameplay loop, while very simple, does a good job at gaining complexity and difficulty as the gameplay progresses. My only real critique here is that I had some of the longer dialog chains grow off-screen, so if I hadn't been tracking the words mentally I wouldn't have been able to tell where I was. I'm not sure if there's an end to the game, but I made it through several levels before making any mistakes and all-in-all I very much enjoyed the game! Well done.

Thank you! Yeah, the UI was designed and programmed before we had decided on a script, and we didn't have time to fix it up. There's no end to the game, other than losing. At the start, there are always 5 questions that are run as a tutorial, but then after that it chooses a random question from the question list. Glad you liked it!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Yeah the UI is a bit scuffed, we didn’t have time to fix it. Also yes there is no end. Take this as a message to not be an awful person as a politician or something like that

Pretty good concept

I would vote for that cat! Really liked your take on spin. I hope you get a chance to try out my game :)

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! Please don't vote for him, he tells lies :3

I definitely this could work if it were more puzzle like by leaving it up to the player to decide the most appropriate response, as it doesny feel too good just copying the desired awnser. Sounds as others said need work. But overall I think this could work in a more finished setting, so I applaud the creativity!

Developer

Thank you for playing! As I mentioned in response to Lustral Basin's comment, we considered leaving the appropriate response up to the player but decided against it, as it might have confused some players. I agree with you on the sounds, that was quite last-minute, and neither of us is very good at it.

Really cool game! I enjoyed reading the funny sentences I made from mis-clicks. Really interesting spin on the theme. I think some music, more SFX, and a few tweaks (see Lustral Basin's comment) would elevate it even further.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Sounds were a very last minute addition (neither of us are good at it) so yeah I agree the SFX is quite lacking

Developer

Thank you for playing! Yeah I agree SFX are lacking.

I love the writing! I just wish the player was incentivized to actually read the questions instead of just the desired answer. It might’ve also been more fun if the answer wasn’t spelled out at all, and you had to put the phrases in a reasonable order.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you so much! Yeah that's one of the things I wanted to do, I was thinking about using text-to-speech to read out the question, but I didn't get time to look into that. As for your second point, we decided against that as it might have confused some players but I can see how that concept could work.

Developer(+2)

Glad you liked it!

I don’t think I have anything else to add to what banna12345bob responded to your points
