I know I'm late, but let me leave some notes here as well~

- fancy story and little ingame tutorial

- no smooth ending to the roll, it often just teleports into the final resting place

- warning for the final few spins would be good

- intro clearly needs a skip button for repeat play^^

- certainly lacks a bit of a goal

Overall very nice, super solid base for something proper with more time :3

Thank you for the feedback, that is really valuable. They are all really good points. Hope you enjoyed anyways!

Got so invested I forgot to feed the cat! Love the audio.

Gamble? Gamble. Stakes? The world.

What seemed like a simple concept got very funny through your writing and the audio. Had some problems finding out why i lost, a warning during the shop would have helped but thats just being picky. I Loved this experience, great entry.

Great game, my favourite I've played so far! I loved the juice on the scoring phase and the sounds were all great.  I played for about 45 minutes, I hope it's okay that I share a few thoughts/bug reports:

 - I bought maybe 50 melons in one run and never had a single one show up on the board (it appeared to give me oranges instead)

- Roses are busted, unconditional +6 means you can't lose once you have a handful of them

- The happiness bar appears to be uncapped. I started using the food button to re-roll my shop and eventually the happiness just never goes down

- It was either very unclear to me what a "line" was or there are some bugs around that mechanic. The only times I ever had a line scored was when it was a horizontal line, and even not all horizontal lines scored. I bought the Paylines upgrade 10 or so times and this never seemed to change.  e.g. in the below screenshot, only the Orange, Orange, Joker, Joker line in the bottom left scored, when I would have expected to score at least a few more.  Anyways, I thoroughly enjoyed this and hope you keep up with it after the jam!

I am glad you liked it! I really like that you found an strategy you liked aswell! And thank you for all the bug reports!

- About the melons, I have just checked it and you are completely right, they were giving oranges. Thank you! In fact oranges are better than melons so you were gaining value!

- About roses, that would be fine if I had had time to add the next symbol families that I had planned, but it is true that for the rythmn of the game now they are probably too op.

- About the happiness bar, wops, I will check that out, typical mistake there hahahahaha

- About lines, I agree that it is a bit too vague, and maybe some custom UI to check what paylines are active would be great. The idea is that initially only horizontal lines going left to right pay. Then, after the first upgrade you get some two wide zigzags, and I did not manage to implement more hahahaha, but the idea would be to add more complex patterns. So you wasted at least 8 * 200, my bad! I did not have time to make them stop showing up when maxed. Anyways, I do still want to rework them, since it would also make sense to have lines not starting on the left, but also in the middle.

Fun and addictive!
This game was very enjoyable and the strategy of balancing your cat's happiness with saving up for upgrades works very well.

The main thing I noticed is that you are punished for a long reward animation, so maybe the cat's happiness decay could slow down when the reward animation is playing so it always loses the same amount.

congrats on making this in 7 days!

Thank you! In fact it decreases per spin, it just decreases more each time. Maybe it was not too clear, but that makes your feedback valuable!

Incredible presentation!

The gameplay is very fun and addictive as it stands, but it could feel a little bit repetitive after a while. I think my main issue is with the shop. It felt a little disconnected, for lack of a better word, from the rest of the game. It wasn't readily apparent that you could reroll it by spinning the slot machine; and even once I found that out, usually by the time I was spinning the machine it was cause I was low on cash and couldn't buy anything anyways. So I got into a loop of spinning a bunch, then buying things from the shop that seemed immediately useful without any thought for strategy. There's a bunch of unused space on the right side of the screen, it might be enough to fit a more compact version of the shop rather than hiding it in a separate tab (maybe enough to at least show what's currently for sale). This would instantly communicate that it's rerolled by using the slot machine, and put the items more front-and-center so the player has more incentive to think about strategy. Ultimately though, it didn't impact my enjoyment of the game that much, but I still thought it was worth bringing up. Other than that one point, this was unbelievably well made, it feels very professional and polished.

Wow that is unbelievably helpful feedback! There is also the problem that you need to leave the slot machine to buy, so it would be interesting to make it a preview as you proposed and let you to buy there aswell. Thank you!

Very polished but felt a little too random for my liking, but might just be skill issue haha

Developer

Hahahaha yes it is quite random. Maybe there was a slight lack of mecanics where you decide. I had some more in mind but did not have more time!
