cute artwork, nice work
Neat little platformer. Surprisingly good difficulty curve for being random (of course I could have gotten lucky).
ty for playing! glad u had fun!
Yo this is fire! I love the pixel art!! Small thing but the speech bubble and flashback animations were super super cool!! Also cool that you also added those cool S drawings to your game haha! I love the characters and the platforming is nice.
Ty for playing! I am glad you enjoyed!
Alright, I finally beat it after dying 51 times! My verdict: very unsafe. :)
A few notes - I noticed immediately that things like coyote time and jump height control weren't included. This probably contributed to a huge portion of my deaths, as I was too used to it from other platformers and would walk off ledges constantly.
Also, I'm not sure if the wheel results are scripted or what, but I got ghosts on the first spin, and in my opinion, this was the most annoying hazard by far. On top of being able to actively chase you and pressure you to move, the ghosts also sometimes spawned slightly hidden from view. Since they can travel through platforms and are invisible while doing so, it's easy to be standing on a platform and get ambushed out of nowhere. I did eventually learn how to deal with them, but it was more so through trial and error and memorizing where all the ghosts were in the level.
The spins are not scripted so it can lead to crazy difficulty scaling but for a solution maybe I can have the ghosts be visible in front of the platforms to avoid that problem as ambushes will no longer be a thing i also plan to add coyote time and other platforming movement addition to help withy this later when files unlock. but TY! for Playing and I appreciate the feedback!
Cutscenes 10/10 even though it had little to do with the game they really made the game stand out.
Ty! for playing!
this is super goofy, i like the way the level changes every time you spin, nice work with the theme
Ty! goofy is sysnonym for serious as we all know ;)
The randomized stage hazards were really fun. At first it seemed like it’d be repetitive with the same level layout, but I was proved wrong by all the cool wheel effects. I just wish the clouds were adjusted in some way, they become very hard to deal with in later runs. Also to not attach UI to the camera you can use a Canvas Layer node in Godot (keeps stuff outside the game space).
Not gonna lie when I was googling how to make the timer not fall with the player I could not find any go tutorials so I gave up but now this would have been amazing I wish i new before hand :P. anyway Ty! for playing! and when files unlock I will fix that!
very simplistic loop that gets a little more complex every wheelspin! really felt like i embodied sam for this. good work :D
Ty! It means a lot!
Cute little game! It's got a lotta personality to it. Good job!
Thank You! :D
So simple and yet so entertaining. Great job.
Ty for playing!
Is the music made in chrome music lab?
I am not sure where the music was made I did not make it it was made by tg14_studious called retro vibes.
Pretty serious game with a serious message. We need more safety in our games!
Funny idea^^
:D Ty for playing!
It’s great how random gimmicks are added each time you clear a stage, it really challenges the player to push their limits. The gimmicks and artwork are also very unique, great job!
Ty! Means a lot! :D
Love the goofy cutscenes and story lol. The platforming can be better using coyote time and acceleration/deceleration. Overall quite enjoyable.
Nice work!
That seems to be a common conclusion when files unlock I will improve the movement! Ty!
Enjoyed the HECK out of this game! TOTALLY UNSAFE! ghosts, on and off platforms, shurikens, saw blades, and a time limit were my obstacles
Ty! for the feedback and kind words!
The cutscenes were incredibly charming, and the humor is great. Also pretty creative use of the theme with the level changing over time. The jump audio appeared to be delayed whenever I jumped though. The music did also get a bit repetitive.
Thanks for the feedback if had more time/skill I feel I would be able to make better sound then stuff that I got online.
Charming little platformer! Evolving the same level over time is an interesting gimmick. I like the antics Sam gets up to, I think they're VERY SERIOUS. As others have mentioned the controls are a bit of a sticking point. I don't believe you included nice to haves like Coyote Time or Jump Buffering, these can really help with platformers. I'd check them out if you haven't heard of them before. Great work on this submission!
ty! i think for my next game I will try to make sure to include more player forward addition in my next jam/game but for a first game it is a little rough around the edges but I did include coyote time maybe I just need to increase the timer but Jump Buffering I didn't add (or know about). thank you for the feedback!
I like the concept, adding increasingly difficult mechanics to the same level!
The movement though feels unsatisfying. With some polish it could make this game a lot more fun to play!
thank you for playing! and I will try in my second game (and when the files unlock) to make the movement feel better and get more playtests! As I keep learning I bet I will learn more ways to make the movement better!
This is the Really good, the game opened up as i got closer to end.
this is really fun mechanics and little polishing and some particle and camera effect like screen shake and other things will improve the game a lot.
Yeah I agree if I had more time I would have definitely added more juice.
UPDATE: I figure out how the report was not working thanks so much for telling me about this and giving me the chance to fix it before the dealine!!
