Cool Game i like The genre, it would be nice to have a shop or a bit more weapon varriation bcs i ended up always choosing the 8 dmg weapon with the stone if avaible , and from that point it was just luck and no skill
but unless that great job
I think you cooked with your idea.
thank you <3
Nice job, it was pretty fun and the use of the theme fit this game well. Nice job, and idk why but I got super unlucky my first time playing lol.
it was very good. There is so much potential to add new enemy types and different way to engage the enemy.
I've playtested before jam deadline and final release and I'm so glad and proud of you for patching up issues and polishing the game up. I liked it a couple days ago and I love it even more now! Great job. Congrats on working so hard on it.
Well made and nicely polished!
So cool to have a card builder and attack things! I liked the snappiness and visuals a lot! Thanks for promoting and hanging with us in the livestream!!
I enjoyed playing it. Would love to see more in the future if you intend on continuing the game
Super cute! I don't play a lot of card games, but I definitely see a lot of potential. I understand your take on the theme, but it took a moment for the idea of 'wheel' spinning to click. Maybe for the upgrades, it could be like an actual fortune wheel? That would be cute. The visuals are a bit simple, but well-polished. It would be nice if you could see the moves that the opponents make, like their own roster of cards. I was initially confused when my attacks would miss, because it was difficult to see the 'missed' text that popped up, so I would definitely make that bigger! Mechanics were also super easy to pick up, so that's nice. Awesome game!
Thank you! Initial idea was not a card game, something about my idea of abilities in my game, turned into using cards instead, kinda happy I pivoted early for that. I think I got my vision through pretty good despite everything I had to sit down and learn at once.
The beginning of the game is supposed to be a little more boring and easier, to try to make the later rounds be more challenging and fun, adding more difficulty, variations in card and upgrades you get in later rounds. Time went by really quick and suddenly I didn't have time to add more cards or enemy mechanics. I had boss mechanics and more buffs/debuffs planned, along with more enemies. Juniper said something about keeping the scope down and making it polished in her videos so I tried that instead.
I really like the idea, the upgrade reveal was supposed to be a fortune wheel actually, but I ran out of time, so its an "animation" of it selecting the card for you instead.
Adding cards for the enemy to play would be really cool, would have added a whole other element to the game to balance.
All of your ideas sound really nice and I will do a rewrite of the code for a better foundation to develop further and then update it more, me and my friend developing it really liked how it turned out so we also want to see where we can take it.
Appreciate you taking your time! <3
The game is easy to grasp yet engaging. The initial opponents are a bit dull, but they help you get the hang of things quickly, which is great. I really liked the game's responsiveness, as well as its visuals and music.
There is plenty of room for further development here—go for it!
all the sensations of a good card game in, the only issue is that the menu need to be pimp. so can u test mine ? plz :)
haha thank you, yeah I should pimp my menu
Sure I can try out your game after work
Nice foundation for a card game. I liked the pixel art graphics, and the mechanics were very easy to pick up. Nice job!
That's really nice to hear, if it really is a nice foundation, I might continue updating the game!
The gameplay loop is really engaging, I like it a lot! I died pretty quick, but I think this game would be livened up with some animatoins and effects, but that goes for a lot of games lol. Great job, it's very serious :)
I tried really hard to make the game a challenge to beat, but not too hard. It's a fine line for sure.
You know what would have been cool, a nice background story to the game!
I had more cards and animations planned, but had to stop changing and creating systems, to polish the game instead because work came in the way! D;
Game is quite fun as is! I see a lot of potential if you wish to continue on with this project. Intuitive gameplay, to the point where you don't miss a tutorial. :D
The biggest issue for me is the theme interpretation - I feel like there was a missed opportunity in simply revolving around RNG.
Nontheless, cool entry, keep at it!Appreciate your kind words! ;D
If there's one thing I wished was better with my game, it would be the theme implementation. Had so much planned, it was either a really good theme implementation or a playable game in the end. Now that I have some experience I will be able to plan better next time!
I did my best :)
it was actually pretty fun
How far did you get? :)
I got to the part where the enemy dealt 9 damage
nice :)
There was some good feedback on the attacks. I also like how the controls are very self explanatory .The card text is too light against the light background. It would be easier to read with more contrast. Obviously this is a jam game so it doesn't matter that much, but more card and enemy verity would be cool if your planning to expand the game
Thank you playing,
yep the card text is a bit hard to read, could be a good idea to fix that actually
I'm a sucker for a good card game, I enjoyed it but I guess it is very early development, so I see the potential in your game and looking forward to future installments if you will work on it, though a bit confused how it relates to "Spin to Win", maybe the random upgrade we get every couple of rounds? though nothing is spinning still so it is a bit of stretch :D, but generally, amazing work ♥
I updated my game's description with a brief explanation on my take of the theme :)
It is indeed very early in development, would enjoy adding to it more, always nice to have a side project that can grow with me as I go.
I wanted spinning animations too, but I ran out of time D:
forgot to say, thank you <3
Love it!!
<3 :D
Has potential, with some more types of cards the game will shine :D
I want to add more content actually, will have to wait a week atleast
