I quite liked the game's graphical style and also rushing into foes while spinning like a madman. I did find it annoying that spinning doesn't allow you to destroy projectiles, as you can quickly start getting attacked by multiple ranged enemies at once and it's not really possible to dodge their projectiles if they fire while you're trying to hit them (if you can even manage to hit them due to their fast movement speed).

Was really fun. Visual/sound design is also well done. Balancing the stun/dizzy meters added a lot of depth. I think the stun meter is well balanced as it prevents you from constantly mashing, but I feel the dizzy meter needs a tiny bit of adjusting. It still goes up a bit tiny bit after you stop spinning, and it feels like it takes a bit too long to go down. I usually ran away for a few seconds while I waited for it to cooldown. Besides that awesome game though, the combat was serious.

Great game! I really like the trail affect of the swords and it was satisfying and fun! the only two things I would change would maybe make the dizzy more obvious like just make the word bigger you know. And I think the hit boxes for the knives only cover the actually knives I would extend them down the arms so when eyme is right in front of you they still will take damage. I found sometimes a guy would be right their but would not get hit. Great job everything else was great!

Fun to play with some great blood fx - the stun thing got frustrating as I wasn't sure what was causing it and it interrupts the fun of spinning - great idea overall though

holding two swords and rapidly spinning is exrtremely serious, love to see it. The mechanic of avoiding getting dizzy while also clicking with the right timing is cool. When I got dizzy it seemed like I was invulnerable though? that might have been a bug. Getting dizzy didn't really punish me very much due to it. Pretty fun game and extremely serious great work.

Thanks for playing and for the serious feedback!
And you're right haha, the invulnerability during the dizzy state is actually a bug. It should definitely punish you more. I'll be fixing the balancing issues and hopefully adding new content to the game after the jam. Thanks again!

Very creative use of theme. It kinda reminded us of hotline miami! Great game to kill time, but we wish there was a bit more variety.

That's a huge compliment, thank you!
I'll definitely look into adding new content after the game is over. Thanks for playing!

Nice work, I thought the mechanic was creative!

The game was pretty hard for me to survive longer than a couple minutes, but I think adding some upgrades or something to give the player advantages would help with that.

The music was very catchy, and the art and sound were nice and satisfying, great job!

Thanks for playing and for the great feedback! I really appreciate the suggestion about upgrades. I'll definitely look into that after the jam is over.

Since I made all the art and music myself, it means a lot to hear that you enjoyed them. Thanks again!

I really liked the game feel with the visual feedback and the sound effects but there isn't a lot going on in the gameplay department. As long as you can keep the indicator in the sweet spot you don't even need to be looking at the screen.

You're completely right. Infinite spinning made it way too easy to cheese. This update forces you to actually move:

  • Enemy cards pierce your spin. You have to dodge.
  • A new dizzy meter stuns you if you spin nonstop.
  • Inactive zones dim out so you can read the gauge easily at a glance.
  • The cursor pulses in the sweet spot and shakes violently when you overshoot.
  • The whole UI flashes and vibrates when your dizziness hits critical levels.
  • Clear labels show exactly what state broke your momentum.

Thanks for the feedback, Snarg!

You really need to write instructions on the page, it's okay to explain the gameplay on a Jam submission, especially since the base mechanic isn't obvious.

Thanks for your feedback! I've added instructions to the page

Took me way too long to realize there was a bar on the top...  gameplay feels good once I got the hang of it, I like the sound-effects

Thanks for the feedback! This update polishes the Spin Meter so it catches the eye better, while adding mechanics to break that infinite spin strategy
