Neat little game~ The SFX when placing the gears are very satisfying. I wish there is more challenging puzzles but it seems straightforward than anticipated. I did stuck on Level 2 for some reason, I thought I messed up something but I think it's a bug on the gear placement as it is fixed after restarting.

Fun little game. With a little more time, you could have made a lot more of these special gears work, allowing for more challenging and unique levels. Some levels, especially the last one, kind of felt more like a speedrun than a puzzle game because I had to place so many gears. Overall quite fun tho.
Really like the concept. Was looking forward to using all the different gears but sad when the game ended before using them
dont know why but I actually liked the fact that it had no music, and the sfx was so satisfying. I loved the minimalism of everything
It’s an interesting idea, would’ve liked to see more levels using the different effects and maybe something to add could be different sizes to the gears
The absence of music actually makes the sound effects stand out, and the fact that the gears have various unique properties makes the game really interesting. It’s an amazing game!
insane polish! the SFX is very satisfying. my suggestion would be to add a undo hot key!
Well polished game with many types of gears available to play, the idea of the game is great and the controls are very easy to learn.
I found that the puzzles available currently are lacking and only required you to spam m1 but I could see the potential of this game if it had more puzzles that utilize other types of gears. Overall a good entry!
I like puzzle games! For this one I have some improvement suggestions:
- Click and drag to place multiple cogs in a line
- Add more mechanics!! This game has so much potential for real puzzles :3
I'd be happy if you'd also try our game, we made a combat incremental :3
Thanks for playing and leaving a comment!
The suggestions are on point haha, both were planned to be integrated during the jam, but my focus on polishing the game left me with too little time to work on these sadly. I'll continue the development for sure though seeing how many people think the game has potential!
Great work! You created an extremely polished and fun game! My only complaint is I wish there were more levels haha! You have a great foundation to expand and use all the extra gears and I'm hoping you'll update it in the future! I also have a suggestion to maybe make it so if you click and hold you can place gears one after another. Other than that, very fun game!
Game is polished, and it was fun placing down the gears. I liked how you had to place light gears to see. I think the game just needed more levels.
Cool ideas right here :) nice style, clean transitions, cool mechanics!
the only thing i'd wish for is an automatic click to remove single gears / or a tutorial/smart puzzle that makes you learn to learn the followingorganically: i noticed way too late that all the gears in a chain vanish when i remove an earlier gear and instead removed them one by one haha :D
Thanks for playing and leaving a comment!
I completely agree that the tutorial could have brought the player to understand by playing how gear deletion works. I won't lie the tutorial was kind of a last minute addition some it's very crude and doesn't do a good job to teach especially the gear deletion.
Couldn't figure out the controls but it looks nice

Ah, yeah. A friend of mine that tested the game also found himself stuck and didn't know how to remove a gear. The tutorial really does a bad job of teaching this since it doesn't explicitly tell how to remove a gear and instead teaches how to open the options of a gear which contain the remove button.
For reference, to remove a gear you currently have to right click it which will open its toolbar which only has the remove button for now.
Anyway, thanks for letting me know!
Agree with others, very nicely polished game with great execution. Would love to play more levels with a bit more complex solutions and improved placing mechanichs like the mentioned paint brush. But overall feel is very solid with nice visuals, great job !!
The light/dark levels are cool but the other ones are essentially just connect the dots. Someone else mentioned a paint feature for the gears which would have gone a long way for me, but the level of polish makes up for the tedium of placing them one by one. Feels great to play.
Would love to see more levels. As the starting ones are a bit too easy. Also it would be very good to have better placement tools, like holding mouse button to constantly place or delete them. But still very good game
Thank you for playing and leaving a review!
Yup, the level difficulty is really abysmal right now, which is my biggest pain point. It's partly due to the fact that I didn't have time to implement other mechanics than the darkness and Light Gears, but I could also have made better levels with what I had in my opinion
The mouse click holding / draw-style placement method was suggested by a lot of other people, and even though I wanted to do it, had I known so many people would ask for it I definitely would have prioritized it haha
You have a real nice base for a full game here, everything's very polished, it's satisfying to place down gears, and I think the idea could be expanded pretty far. However, I did think the levels were way too easy; there was practically no thinking involved in most of them, and when there was, it was mainly because of the darkness, so it feels a bit like artificial difficulty. If you want to expand this idea further, there's a lot of interesting mechanics that come to mind when I think of cogwheels: different gear ratios, chain drives, using them to activate mechanisms, etc. Well, I don't make puzzles, so I don't know how you'd go about implementing these ideas, I'm just sharing my inspiration. Anyways, good job!
Also, I was really missing restart and undo buttons. But maybe Baba Is You spoiled me too much.
Thank you very much for the review and suggestions!
I'm definitely hoping to add some more mechanics to the game as I'm not satisfied with the puzzle aspect at all! Some of your suggestions are things I envisioned initialy but either didn't have enough time to integrate, such as activating other mechanisms, or didn't see how to integrate it cleanly like the different gear ratios.
Yeah, it'd really have been nice to have an undo button, I didn't even think of it during development but in retrospect that should have been in the game. A restart button exists, but with itch.io's fullscreen mode it bothersome to access as you have to press Escape which normally opens the Pause menu which has a restart button, but if you're playing in fullscreen it'll first exit it without opening the pause menu..
Anyway, thanks again!
