Creative concept, felt real serious when i was in the suit

Developer

I’m glad to hear that I got real lucky with that suit image

Submitted

Cool concept! Just needs more maps. The camera behaviour is a bit annoying.

Developer

what do you think would have helped with the camera behavior? Slowing it down?

Submitted

The camera seems to move ahead of the player instead of following, which feels disorienting

Developer

I believe there are quite a few (good) platformers that do this so i took inspiration from them

Submitted

That was fun and the concept is amazing! Voicelines (with some voice cracks) absolutely sell the game. Great job

Developer(+1)

I’m glad to see you liked the voice lines

Wow! This is such a creative and underrated entry, I love the concept. It reminds me of Ultimate Chicken Horse because of the well-crafted chaos. My favourite challenge from the modifier was collecting 5 coins while moving quick and no jumping. The variety in different win conditions, modifiers and drawbacks are fun, and I like that "no modifier" is an option too. One suggestion I have is to turn the wheel sideways, so I don't have to tilt my head when trying to read what it's landing on lol.

thanks for commenting! I have heard that and o do kinda wish I added that in time but at least for now you can still see what was picked on the ui

For sure, it's a pretty minor change. The idea is really fun.

Love the creativity bro! Some combinations are broken, but that's fine! I had a fun time trying it out !!

Love the voice lines, and running the same map with random conditions gave the game lots of replayability! Love the idea!

Developer

thanks so much for the review!!

Amazing game, literally even thought it's so simple it's better than many games in the jam

the voice lines are amazing , there are variety of ways to beat the game ,the different mix of stuff is pretty cool

obviosuly art style could have been a bit better even for a simple game but genuinely tho

amazing game, i like it

thanks for the compliments glad you liked the concept

This is a solid entry! There are some fun combinations of conditions (I particularly love the serious condition; makes you have to think a lot harder about how to get to objectives like or the top of the screen). I do have to say that the conditions could do with some more balancing. Some conditions (e.g., jetpack, die to win) trivialize the game, while others (e.g., the market crashing) mean nothing without other objectives (in this case, coins to win).

I also wish there was more time put into visuals—not just the general style of the game, but also the feel of platforming itself. Even if you're going to go for a simpler art style, some squash, stretch, and skew would make moving around a lot more satisfying. I'd also like for there to be more to the platforming itself. The jump buffer and coyote time were noticed and greatly appreciated, but adjustable jump height or some sort of dash would further enhance things.

Developer

good to hear this feedback, sometime I may try adding some squash and stretch and stuff and with the adjustable jump height I’ve just never done that before so I don’t know how but I may try to add it in the future and I don’t think I would really want a dash as the part of the main move set but maybe as a modifier.

This is such a creative game! I love the idea of a platformer with a win condition, a drawback and a helper. Actually had so much fun already with what I played of it so far

Developer(+1)

great to hear this! by the way though it is a called a "modifier" although i do also use that term interchangeably with conditions to describe the gimmicks in general

Well John from HR,

I actually really liked this game, I think that the idea of it is awesome, and i can see it being really cool to get some crazy modifier stacks. I also suriprisingly really enjoyed the simple visuals.

Best regards,

Buffalosmuggler68 (not from HR)

Dear Buffalosmuggler68 from accounting,

nice to hear this feedback! just curious with your comment about, “i can see it being really cool to get some crazy modifier stacks” do you mean like woth how the game is right now or like if i let you get more than 2 modifiers.

best regards,

John from HR.

fun game and concept :D
i did find a bug though where if you skip the wheel spinning it gives you the exact same thing you just had

Developer

that shouldn’t happen as the gimmicks are chosen right as the level loads

Submitted

i tried that again and it didnt happen, maybe i was just really lucky last time

Voice lines had me rolling

Developer

I’m glad to hear so many people like the voice lines I added them in pretty last minute

Great idea using the spin for modifiers  - platformer mechanics generally felt nice too. Only issue is some combos are particularly tricky / maybe impossible? For example Collect 5 coins + high gravity + you are serious was very difficult! But with some balancing and level changes I think the idea is solid and enjoyed alot

Developer (1 edit)

that’s my bad I made the level really quickly and didn’t play test it to much and also there is a way I can block certain drawbacks/modifiers if others are selected to prevent it being impossible but I didn’t make sure to do that
