That was quite the twist there at the beginning LOL To be honest, the whole experience was great until I started playing the real game. The x velocity while jumping doesn't go very far so it took me several tries to jump on to my first booger, the dying SFX got a bit frustrating because of that. It was nice getting some more velocity though from spinning off a boogie. For the boogies that are on the bottom or ceiling of the level, you should not be able to die if you're spinning on a booger and rotate off screen; maybe having the detection to lose off screen be further past the edges of the screen itself would help with that so players can still get a full spin to potentially keep moving forward. I did not get very far unfortunately. Fun visuals and idea though! Nice work!

I don't even know what to say...

Fair reaction, LOL 😂

Thanks for playing! :D

Well, that took a turn (in a good way!). The controls took me a little bit to get used to, but how your character orbits around each object in order to get across the screen is a cool concept. Awesome job!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed the gameplay and the twist! We really wanted to subvert expectations and make the switch feel surprising, hehe.

The orbiting mechanic definitely takes a little getting used to. Our team took a while to get used to it too, and watching each other’s failed attempts was HILARIOUS. 😂😂

Happy to hear you thought the concept was cool! We definitely want to expand on this concept and add more content. 🔥🔥🔥

Thanks for playing! :D

At what cost I'm not sure, but I won, love the intro and overall silliness.

(Btw, you dropped this 👑 )

WOW the art is so awesome! I didn't expect that switch though LOLL the gameplay was a bit tough imo but lots of fun!

Developer(+1)

Yea, we really wanted to bait people into thinking they were in for a cute romantic VN... and then switch it up with, umm... yeah. XD

Glad you liked the art! The game is definitely pretty challenging, but we’re planning to expand it and add different difficulty options. 🔥🔥It even took us devs a while to beat our own game LOL. (And for some reason, we still want to introduce even more chaos. 😂)

Glad you had fun! Thanks for playing! :)

First of all, the art is FANTASTIC! I think every sprite complements each other and they totally fit serious vibe! The music too is excellent! The dialogue and story encapsulates the seriousness theme very well!

But it is REALLY hard to gauge your jump! I think part of it is because I'm not great at 2d platformers but it is still very difficult to play. The jumping mechanic is very difficult to use, sometimes I think I am jumping one way but I get put back onto another little spinning thingy behind me. I think maybe some sort of visual indicator is needed because I never know if I am going to spin off a little bit or ricochet far into the distance. It is also really hard to collect hearts, but that is mostly because I don't understand the jumping very well.

Hi BrandonThePika,

Thanks for the kind words and for playing our game! We’re really glad you enjoyed the art, music, and story! :)

And yeah, that’s fair. We wanted to add more visual indicators and difficulty options, but unfortunately ran out of time since we started development on Wednesday and relied heavily on the 24-hour extension window, haha.

We do plan to keep developing the game, so your feedback is really appreciated. Thanks again! :)

Oh my goshhh, this game totally tricked me at first 😭 The cover/background/sprite made me think it was something super cute, and then BAM—sprite style suddenly changes and I just sat there like “wait WHAT???”

But honestly it’s fun! I love the feeling of jumping between platform and getting yeeted around by gravity in circles like I have zero control over my life LOL. It’s chaotic but in the best way possible 😭💫

LOLL YESS, YOU FELL FOR OUR EVIL TRAP MUAHAHA!!! 😂

Glad you enjoyed the chaos! We definitely want to ramp it up even more in future updates, hehe. 🔥

Thanks for playing! :)

I havent been able to play it, not sure if i get all the controls

Developer

Yeah, unfortunately we didn’t have a fully playable version during the main submission deadline, so we relied heavily on the late submission window. 😭😭😭

The game is playable now, and you can find the tutorial in the menu after the cutscene plays! 👍🔥

uhh can't even start the game I just die instantly

Developer

Sorry about that. We found a critical bug where pressing the play button could immediately trigger the game over screen. We have fixed the issue on our end, but the version currently posted still has that bug. To meet the deadline, we had to submit an unfinished build, but we are actively working on bug fixes, polish, and additional content. Please check back on Saturday night/Sunday, when the final released version should be available to play. Thanks for letting us know!
