Ah yes, the classic rage game, I will admit, this game is really hard, TOO hard. After about 30 minutes of playtime I still couldn't get past the second room. Although when you get used to the controls they are kinda fun. My only recommendation is to crank down the difficulty in the first couple rooms, also I got stuck in the massive pit in the first room a couple times and it is way too hard to get out of for the tutorial room. Overall, this seems like a great game, I just have a skill issue :( Good job!

really tricky game with tricky controls! i could probably get it down with more time though. if making the controls slightly easier/more intuitive is something you're considering, two things i would've liked as part of the controls are to decrease the rotational inertia/make it easier to change spinning direction in the middle of the air, and to make it either so the fling direction is less dependent on the direction of the hook or to make it easier to angle the hook while grounded. that being said, i don't think you have to change it; it's fittingly difficult for a foddian game, and when i got past level 2 after a good 15 minutes i did in fact feel very satisfied. then i missed the very next jump :( good game though! i think it achieves what it's going for

Thanks for such a thorough review! Yeah, difficulty and what to do with it is really a stumbling block for me. Your suggestions are really something to consider and experiment with. Anyhow, I'm so glad that you enjoyed it.

great game! needs a restart button though. also I couldn’t pass level 1. make the first level easier

Developer(+1)

Restart button is a great idea. I will definitely add it after the jam.

Je n'ai pas réussi à passer le deuxième écran… Je crois que ce genre de jeu est trop difficile pour moi.

Ça aurait été sympa de voir jusqu'où on était arrivés pendant notre partie.

Seeing progress is nice but I think the whole idea is that you don't know what's ahead of you. Exploration feeling and stuff. But the game surely needs some goal to climb the top.

Interesting game! I liked the fairly minimalistic art style and the calm music in the background, but I really struggled to control the character. Also, just a side note but A and D do not allow me to twist the character like it says in the tutorial. I had to use the arrow keys instead.

Developer

That's strange... I have to look into that problem, thanks!

I can't seem to play the game. Is it just me, or is it really hard to control the character? I would have loved to—I love the design and the duck.

I guess I got carried away and made it too hard :) I just tried to create the enjoyment of overcoming, I think.

I liked the game a lot but I was pretty bad at the main premise. LOL. very cool game!

It's nice to see another Foddian game in the jam.  I really enjoyed the hook mechanic but I found it to be VERY challenging (but of course that's the point).
