a really nice ue5 entry :D I enjoyed my time playing, I think that one gripe I had was how easy it was to get stuck in corners and how hard it was to get out because of how hard it was to control how fast you moved, but i think other than that it was really fun :)

First of all, I am really happy to see another Unreal Engine developer in here! This game was definitely worth the download! It's enjoyable, it's creative, it's funny, and it hits all the right boxes! The models are great, the gameplay loop is so nice, and just everything about this makes me impressed.

The things that can be improved are the menu and the enemies' death. In the menu, you need to press once on the screen, and only then it starts to receive input. I also had this problem. What you need to do is use the node "Set Input Mode Game and UI" on Begin Play in your menu level. This will allow the mouse to be focused on the menu from the start, and in that way it will feel more interactive.

And about the enemies' death, I feel like it was pretty hard to know if you managed to kill them. Sometimes I returned a bit backwards just to make sure. Even if you can see who died in the HUD, it would be nice if there were a more noticeable sound that indicates a kill.

But other than these two things, the game is actually amazing! It can totally be a game on Steam even at this point.

Developer

Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it! The UI thing was definitely an issue but we will try to resolve it. A sound does play when you defeat enemies, but it is not loud enough or distinct enough so I agree. Currently making it so we can customize our character, and plan to hopefully fix collision and enemy damage as well.

nice very very polished and nice trailer too

Developer

Thanks glad you enjoyed it!

One of the best entries I've seen so far. The only problem for me was the camera control which felt a bit clunky.

I'd pay for a multiplayer game like this in a heatbeat

Developer

Thanks glad your enjoyed it! Currently working on some character customization post jam since its in but not implemented, but definitely need to fix collisions and the damage system. No plans on multiplayer but maybe if it gets traction.

Might of been the funniest game I've played in this jam by far. I also think this one is very fun.

Here is what I think you did well:

The game has a very funny theme.

Controls are very simple and easy to learn.

The gameplay loop is very good, you spin through levels, fight your inferior coworkers, and promote.

Some suggestions:

The camera feels a bit weird sometimes and I wish I could have even more control over it.

Feels a bit buggy sometimes, which honestly isnt so bad because it compliments the goofiness of the game. One example being I do damage to enemies even when I have no momentum. My headcanon for this is that we are highly radioactive. Another example was that I bounced off the elevator door after finishing the level and it started the level completion screen but didnt start the next level and I had to spin back to the elevator to start it.

A tutorial would be very helpful. It took me a while to understand that I need to get donuts/coffee to get more spin.

There's not much to say really because the core concept of the game is very simplistic, but I really liked this one for its sillyness and how satisfying richocheting can be. Good job!

Developer

Thanks so much for the in depth review! Glad you enjoyed it! A popup saying what each pickup does is on the list, as well as making it so enemies are damaged based off of your current spin rate/speed or ricochet count.

Really fun game! The controls are wonky and there's a few bugs to work out, but its a really funny experience! There should be an announcement in the middle of the screen telling you when the level is finished, and you should only be able to damage enemies when you intentionally run into them.

Developer

100% agree on the get to the elevator comment, we should definitely put that in! Also the goal is to make it so your speed or ricochet count would effect your damage to enemies but time got out of hand.

I liked this game a lot! The controls are pretty easy to get the hang of and it's fun to just ricochet off a bunch of stuff and go flying. The final boss was unexpected but a fun ending. I do not approve of the victory animation though.

Developer(+1)

I sincerely apologize for the victory animation, it was funny in the moment, while I was animating it.

Submitted(+1)

lol don't worry it's still funny :)

Developer

I would like to mention that You can press SPACE to jump, it makes for a lot more fun gameplay, but isn't stated in the bottom left of the game.

Very chaotic. A little bit harder to control with the mouse than i would have liked. Often times the enemy would take damage just by running into me.

Developer

Yeah initially we intended for you to only damage them at a certain ricochet/velocity count but we got a bit too overscoped.
Thanks for playing!

This was pretty charming, with that kind of chaotic flair of bouncing off walls and such, but it felt too inconsistent to control at times. Being unable to adjust your force before you push meant often flinging into the aether, bouncing around in a small office booth. I also had some issues with physics - such as clipping into books and stuff, which made me start to spin uncontrollably on the spot.

The game itself is pretty fun though, and the premise of the game and art style are all very much on point. It's rough at the edges, but it's got heart, and the right mechanical polish can really make it shine.

The visual presentation is really solid, and the little sound design quirks are really well done too!

Developer(+1)

I agree with the inconsistency, we had some trouble with collisions, and wanted to make the smaller objects have little no no affect on movement but didn't get to it. Flinging into the ether was a bit intended, due to the seriousness and chaos we were aiming for.

Thanks for playing! Hope you enjoyed the wackiness of it all!

Had fun playing this one! Reminded me of like pinball mixed with some addictive free game from Xbox game pass lol Love seeing other Unreal games!

Developer

Glad you had fun! it was fun making it!

Fun, wacky, love the theme. The physics felt inconsistent. I was expecting billiards-like mechanics, but it felt very unpredictable, not really in a fun way. I'm still not sure what the spin meter, the powerups, or anything really did. I brute-forced my way to the end more than anything, really.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! There was a lot of issues  with collision and physics overall we didn't get to but the intent was for more billiard ricochet + velocity gameplay.
For the powerups - Coffee and Donut = heal 25 spin meter, Fan just gives points and velocity, Paper piles just give points. Point system for high score didn't make it in.

Submitted(+1)

Interesting idea. But for me gameplay is boring

Developer

Thanks! I helped make it and I agree to an extent, there was a lot we didn't get to implement to make the gameplay more interesting due to scope creep.

Submitted(+1)

Very nice. Visually very fun and there's lots of stuff going on. Not sure what most of the highlighted objects do but it was still fun

Developer

I enjoyed the character animations and it was fun to play! Good work! (:

Developer

Thanks for playing! The character animations were my  favorite part! I was dying of laughter as I made them...

I will always play another office chair spinning game (I went to look for games similar to ours) and I love this execution of the concept! Very zaney(is that how you spell it?)

Though I did get overwhelmed at times. So maybe some way to tone it down for the elderly among us (myself included) would be neat?

GG though!

Developer

Thanks for playing! It became a lot more chaotic and zany than we initially thought, but we wanted to take the jam very seriously.

Submitted(+2)

I really enjoyed this game, such a silly experience id recommend anyone to download and play this one, the levels were fun and chaotic, bouncing off of walls and hitting people off their chairs to fire them.

my only notes would be that when you finish the level the screen that shows in the  elevator goes quite quickly so I was unable to read some of the text though this is apparently a bug I think it would be cool if juniper as the final boss as it were did damage to the player.

Overall the animations, character designs, gameplay and audio are all top tier, the game knocks the spin to win theme out the park :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing our game and thanks the notes! The animations and characters were really fun to do!
