How is this game a platformer, what spin does it bring to the genre?
Nothing particularly unique to this project. It operates as another generic metroidvania game.

What theme does this game use? also explain how you implemented the theme
Speedrunning. There are tricks and things that can be done to shorten the trip. In addition, guides like the com system can be shut off.

Did you use any AI or PREMADE assets in this game?
No AI. Given this is an Alchemy Jam submission as well, previous artwork and tilesets could and were used.

I really love the retro vibes the game gives aswell as the graphics, had a a lot of fun playing, just have to mention but when you switch scene ,the enemies in that room respawn even if you had killed them which you can just used as a quick way to gain LP as you can do it again and again, Just some feedback but overall good game:)

Played the original Metroid games on the GB and gotta say this was very fun to play ! I liked how the button style was the same !

I have a bug to report:

It's too good, I'm jealous ;-;

Just casually making a metroidvania is wild^^

Even with reused assets, just doing the level design, mechanics and writing would've taken me waaaay longer^^

Developer(+1)

Alright, I'll put that up on the page as part of the bug reports. Thanks!

Developer

Two bugs have been reported so far, so make sure to read before playing.  Neither of them will prevent a player from winning, but exercise caution while playing.

This is super solid! Like, actually a lot of content here for 1 week; well done. One of the few games that really held my attention from this Jam!

Developer

Thank you.  I had a late start since this was paired up with another jam. :)

This game is really cool. I love the visuals and the audio, they all look great! The game is pretty fun. A few points of feedback from my point of view, I dislike all the options for jumping and shooting. I think space would be a good jump button. But even after playing through it twice (without beating the boss, probably skill issue) I couldn't remember z and x. As well, since you said it's a game focused on speedrunning, I'd make ways to make you feel faster. Like when you kill an enemy, the energy you gain also boosts you or something. The dialogue was good, but maybe more spaced out (or in future levels being decreased) would be great. Other than those pain points though, the game was great and felt really good, so major props!

Developer

The first bit of the dialogue is part tutorial.  After that, it becomes a lot more casual.  There is also an option to turn it off in the OPTIONS menu.

Thanks for your feedback and comments! :)
