So epic. Took me a bit to realize I had to fly to the smoke on the upper-level of the tutorial level, but once I began the mission I had a lot of fun flying and slashing enemies. Unfortunately, I died before I was able to meet the intruder, but the game overall is super cool. It is a little painful how slow the animations are, but I love the idea of being the giant mech trying to save the small city. I really liked the particles, but the buildings and landscape could do with some love. The aiming was also pretty buggy, and I found the cannon was mostly useless, though very cool and fun to shoot from. Other than that, really nice work, definitely an ambitious project.
It looks really good and music is great !!!!!!! I couldn't get into the physics of the combat though: with the big sword swings I am not sure where and how far I touch! The animation also blocks you without possibility to cancel, whereas the mecha looks very agile :) it is also very hard to calculate what you will touch with the shot. Anyway, an ambitious entry !
This is fun and an ambitious jam game.
I loved: the music, the logo, the vibe. The city level, with all the chaos and destruction is awesome! It really feels like it's under attack and there's some nice enemy variety. The little people running around is such a good touch and really helps get the scale across. The controls for the player were nice and simple and intuitive. Its quite playable.
what I think could use some work: The character movement itself feels very floaty, and the animations don't blend at all. Some of those animations, like the melee attack and the roll, need some editing because they don't line up at all with the actions. The walk animation doesn't look believable when it comes to contact with the ground and the player speed. The melee attack in general I'm not sure what's going on, there's just a swirly area around you that's in the attack zone, and I had the melee attack animation get stuck looping a few times. The default mixamo animations don't map well to an anime style mech IMO, you want to cut down the time-to-action to give them some punch/juice.
In the end, this one made me smile, I had a good time with it and I think yall did a great job. Nice work
thanks for your feedback. I agree with the animation problem, but i'm challenged myself this time modelling and programming at the same time. this is what i was able to develop in this amount of time. i'm happy you had fun playing!
Good job!!! It’s a really fun gameplay with a lot of “juice”, like it’s satisfying to play this game!
W
thanks!!
Very well done! I loved the overall visuals and audio, especially the boss, who made a very nice entrance indeed. Wished the mech’s projectiles were a little faster though, and that the enemy grunts would stop rising from the dead.
The OST is cool - it was like argent guitars intermixed with... jungle? (I don't know genre names that well) I went and checked out another project with audio by Luca afterwards and was impressed by that one, too ('The Swarm', really nice synth tracks!
) The movements on mouse took a little getting used to for me until I realized the scale, being that the player character is like 60 meters tall. Then the projectiles made more sense, too. Ended up able to clear the game with the gun stun --> sword followup. I noticed the aiming behavior got disrupted by directional input in an unexpected way (not sure if it was intentional), but I really appreciated the fact that you have a genuine boss fight at the end.
The little people, I fell onto them a couple of times... I defeated Gelanor, but at what cost?
thanks for your feedback!! i hope you had fun. Sadly the time was short to work the aim and shooting system better, I'm not satisfied with the result too :(
Luca was perfect! i loved the music too
Really liked how you had to knock out enemies and finish them off. Also player animations look quite nice and smooth. The city feels quite alive with all the chaos going on, tanks driving around (I tried to ride them but couldn't sadly xD - the mech would only levitate above them) and people (found out what they were by walking over them o _ o). Also UI style is really interesting to look at.
Though strafing and aiming with mouse was a little uncomfortable. I guess it was designed for controller but I don't have one 😥
Anyway, great game 👍
thanks for your feedback! The game was designed to mouse! the time was short to develop the aim better, I'm not satisfied with it too. Anyway i hope you had fun! thank you again
best part about it is really music, made me feel like I'm some infinite loop, idk, this with the fluid animationa and stuff when you fly, it works quiet well.
thanks for playing! hope you had fun
Really impressive!
Thank you!
Overall a fun experience, I really enjoyed trying to time the rocket with the enemies velocity. It has an older game vibe to it in which I really enjoy. Also being able to fly around is super satisfying. Great work on this!
I'm glad you had fun playing. Thank you for your feedback!
Jogo mt bom, bem legal o boss mudando de comportamento enquanto eu mato ele, voar é top.
valeu meu nobre
A game of this scale within 2 weeks is an insane work!
The combat is very enjoyable after getting used to the control, thoughI do find the camera movement a little hard to control, but that's the only issue I found. Everything else is a job well done!
Thank you!!
Quite an epic scale and some very cool presentation :O
I really like the one button quick swap between the sword and the gun, the fading crosshair is also really well done.
I also really like the overall cinematic feel of this with the cool skydrop start to the dramatic boss introduction once you’ve fought off the enemies, the music is also quite a banger.
Gameplay wise i’ve had 2 small issues though, the melee range makes it a bit hard to hit enemies without taking damage, and the aiming when shooting feels a bit odd, i felt i was fighting the controls a bit, like the game tries to semi lock on something while i was still aiming manually ? not sure what happened there, could be just the web version though.
Other than that it’s a really cool entry, well done :)
Thanks for your feedback! I'm adjusting the enemy right now. About the aim, i think it's just a bug... There's no aim lock or something like this hehe
