Good game. + Rep - Moog Da Boog
ANGRY FACE PLANET ATTACK - chat
Thanks for recommending that I play the game on stream! It was very fun and addicting. It would be cool to add more enemy variety and possibly in turn make the upgrades quicker to acquire/more powerful rather than 0.02 speed increases.
Great game! Well done.
Thank you a ton! I'll check out the stream VOD if/when it's available! The enemy variation stuff was last minute--ran out of time. I've since already made major changes to speed of upgrades (x10 multiplier from what they were to start and it's not unbalanced), added planet size, and starting to add planet variations (gas giants, rocky, etc). I plan on exploring this project past the game jam for a good bit.
Thank you again for the kind words!
EDIT: Aww, no VOD it appears T.T
Awesome little game! I think the mechanic is a unique spin on the genre, I really had to think about my movement which was fun! Made it to level 20. Great work, one of the best submissions I've played so far.
Thanks a ton! There's lot os polish to be done, but glad to see you think it's novel <3
ROGUELIKES MY BELOVED
ok this game is pretty cool, the art is simple, good gameplay, but there were somethings that threw me off
the game scaled pretty slow the entire time (don't know if i just didn't play enough, i got to wave 26 before stopping) the speed upgrades barely felt noticeable, however, neither did the enemy scaling so the game still felt balanced (would've loved for it to be faster though)
the music felt calm but intense the whole time which made me anticipate something so i was suprised to not see a boss.
overall this game has a really cool idea and fairly good execution!
Appreciate the feedback! Ultimately I ran out of time, so enemy variance boiled down to size and speed. I plan to do all sorts of stuff with this. As to pacing, balancing increases and stuff has been a pain and I will continue to tweek and tween until it's just right haha <3
its really great to see a fellow rouge like game. Got me hooked ngl. The power ups were fairly balanced.
so yes, once you get a dozen planet the game becomes fun. idk if its my luck but in my few first run i didn't get another planet for quite long time yet the enemy keep piling. here is my sugestion: cap the enemies number based on current planet number to ensure player doesn't get overwhelmed, second is interaction with enemies make it as juicy as possible. Keep it up! its such a unique spin on a genre!
Yeah, you can currently unlock every orbit without getting a single new planet; nothing is weighted but I do plan to address that.
I'll be setting up more enemy types, consistent (ish) speeds per type, enemies with more HP, and so on. Your suggestions here are good, thank you!!
Pretty fun to just float around for a few minutes
Actually really good. From my experience most Rouge like game jam games tend to reach a point where you become radically overpowered, or be so hard you die in the first few seconds, but I died pretty late in this one so good job.
This is asweome to hear, thank you! Balancing was, well, a balancing act. It'll tighten up even further once I add more stuff post-jam :3
Very fun! Loved the gameplay, though it could definitely use some polish if made into a full game.
Definitely will be getting a lot of polish and it's something I want to pursue as a full game in the future. Glad you had fun <3
