How is this game a platformer, what spin does it bring to the genre?
It's a platformer because of its 2D sidescroller nature, with a focus on puzzles and parkour. The main gameplay mechanic is being able to shift the world around you, by willingly becoming less lucid. It's a spectrum, and you can only control one direction at will; you need to find water to ground yourself back to reality.

What theme does this game use? also explain how you implemented the theme
Metamorphosis. Both for the character (the quest to stop existing) and the world (becoming increasingly warped and messy over time)

Did you use any AI or PREMADE assets in this game?
No

I really enjoyed playing this game to completion, awesome work! My one complaint is that some of the runbacks could be a little annoying, but it didn't hurt the fun for me. The atmosphere for the game was perfect, and the story texts were a nice touch, especially the one at the end.

Developer

thanks!

Oh god. That's my favorite. I'm glad to have played it last! Finished it, and I gotta agree that the runbacks are annoying, but a simple "undo" button that returned you to the previous room could have been nice. Still fricking amazing in my book. Be proud!

Developer

thank you!!

Fantastic game! My one gripe is I'm not a fan of "getting over it" falling back into previous parts of the level, but maybe that's part of the "purgatory" and just a skill issue lol. Great Job!

Developer (1 edit)

im not a fan either, so we tried to keep the punishing aspect as long as we could (our success is a bit subjective). Thank you for playing anyway!

This is impossible to create in just too short timer. Great Game.

Developer

It is! You can tell that there are only like 4 brick textures and 1 gear texture. All of the level design was really easy to make, for the world-warping we actually use Godot's animationPlayer, with a custom time position based on the lucidity! (And a lot of hard work)

Really nice theme and visuals! I suggest Jump on-press-down (not holding) and to adjust game balance a little bit

Developer (1 edit)

thanks! why would we remove the height control on the jump? we took a lot of inspiration from celeste and hollow knight, which is why we added it.

Maybe a higher starting jump it’ll be cool

This game was really cool, I'm on widows the audio glitch out on my twice. Not sure why. The game was well put together and played great. You did a really good job with this. Thank you for sharing.

Developer

what browser are you using? from all my testing on firefox I never had any audio bugs..

Submitted

Crome, the first time I tried to adjust the audio it cut out. I was only in the menu so I just reloaded and it came back. Then I was halfway thru the game and it randomly cut out again. It must be a browser thing. Everything else was very smooth.

Developer(+1)

oh man that sucks, sorry about that. The audio had to be set to a non-standard system ("stream" instead of the default "sample")  because of all the audio effects and processing. I'm glad you still enjoyed the game though!

Yea, you made a great game. So unique.

Slick art complimenting your dynamic levels, this is a fun puzzle to jump through :)

Really cool game—the sound effects were especially cool, and the graphics were really good too!

It's cool. Horror-like style and gameplay combined good!👌

Developer

thanks!

Btw You will add hard mode, time attack or smth? I'm understand that it's not that genre for this modes, but you can do a time attack in form of oxygen quantity decrease or something like this.

Developer

I was mostly focusing on the metamorphosis aspect, I don't think forcing the player to go quickly and not pay attention to their surroundings is ideal, we spent alot of time on making the levels lol I want the player to look at them

Well, okay.
