Very nice way of the spin use.
Tho the music was quite loud. If there was an option to lower it unless there was and i skipped it by accident
I like this kind of humor :) made me chuckle from the get go before even starting up the game :D "run seriousness" is hibrow humor in my book!
There is a LOTTTTTT of lore text, which I would not mind if this was a fuller full game. It added a lot of comedy and seriousness to the game. I went out of bounds before the true level began, thanks to that one rotator block corner piece. The game itself is pretty challenging, love the use of spinning through shift instead of using the mouse. Saved my right hand the pain.
Most serious game in this jam. I felt my pants spin! Neat li'l game, I loved the dungeon keeper :)
So I loved the game concept! Very fun idea. I didn’t manage to finish it myself, though, as the combat felt pretty poor. There is no collision between enemies, or between the player and enemies. Combined with the similar speed of the player and enemies, and the fact that the sword does not reach enemies that are on top of you, this can often lead to very difficult situations where you can’t do anything except take damage until you die. In practice, the game seemed to incentivize you to aim your sword at the enemy and keep your distance, rather than actively using the swinging mechanic. Either way, the game was enjoyable, and I hope this helps you improve it if you ever decide to do a post-jam version!
This game was incredibly serious! the story was serious, and I enjoyed the simple control system. Only thing is with the combat is if an enemy ever got close to you you could never hit it and since you were both the same speed you could never get away. It was a really fun game though!! Glad I ended up playing it!
I will always respect the seriousness of a story about a person and their (highly judgmental) dog.
I really liked that you controlled both the dungeon and the sword with the same button! I did struggle with the combat room, though. If an enemy got to me, it'd just stay on top of me and suck all my health, and the room was so long it felt intimidating to start all over again. I also definitely thought you had to swing the sword to do damage - I didn't realize you could just point it at the enemy.
My computer also kept thinking I wanted to activate sticky keys - maybe a button other than shift would have helped there!
