Lore Ideas

International, rivaling corporations fight each other to monopolize and rule over everything, buying out every other resource and business, liquidating those services into their own companies and private military forces. The world is their battlefield.

A small rebellion begins to form, just outside the mega corporations' reach, making use of stolen weapons, tech, and mechs. A small batch of human pilots, known as Relic Team, is sent out to scavenge for resources and push back against the corporations.

---------------------------------

Gameplay Ideas

Co-op Mecha game with an extraction shooter-style loop and a more traditional campaign with distinct mission objectives and landscapes to traverse. Heavily inspired by the worlds, sounds, and characters of Armored Core & Cyberpunk.

Drop into location, accomplish a few objectives (collect resources, clear out enemy bases, etc.), and return to extraction zone. Some missions may include boss fights or more story-focused elements and cutscenes.

Hey Grunt!! Thanks for organizing this OST jam; it's been a wonderful experience to participate. Seeing that you were a participant, I went straight to listen and absolutely loved your post-rock proposal and the vibe you infused into the tracks. It sounds really high-level and is excellent work. Thank you for sharing it with the world!!!

Hey Grunt! It is an absolute pleasure to be a part of your Jam and to hear what awesome music you have put together here! All three tracks were so good! Your guitar skills and such are awesome. I really enjoyed Magic Eightball. What a great song that was! I liked all three so it is hard to pick a favorite. Another thing I loved is how you pan the sound from one ear to the other. Very cool. I really like the story behind your album as well, and the game. Love it! Another solid submission here!

Really nice atmosphere on all of them, but especially liked the feel of D0UBLE-CR0SSING BA$T4RD, that one had a nice sort of angelic/ethereal blade runnerish feel to it with the intro guitar stuff but then when the synth melody comes the dark change is was really nice

I'm no EinelTheFox so can't really comment on the mix with my skill level, but as I already mentioned on one of your wips in the devlog channel iirc I really dig the ambient/spacious feel of space for all the instruments, makes a for great vibe.

Good work!

Heya. I saw it's not part of final placement but I still wanted to take time to listen fully. Personally I'm big on post rock (e.g. GY!BE, Sigur Rós and Mogwai, among others) so you've already got me there. It's evident you have quite a bit of experience writing music, by way of the melodies, instrument/tone/fx selection, arrangement.

Couple things I'd point out are:

- the mix in the OST-- personally that is one of my own biggest challenges.

- this one may be a personal thing but the synths used... big fan. I'd get more enjoyment out of them being meatier via either EQ, fx or stacking, though I do recognize this could very well be a creative choice.

- another personal thing, i could definitely see/imagine more build up toward some sections but that's also me as a post rock fan who listens to like 20 minute songs

Fave song: RELIC TE4M

I'm glad to see my influences come through in the music! And yeah if I just focused on putting together one track instead of three, I'd probably end up with something around 10-15 minutes with the amount of ideas I had. Funny enough, putting together a shorter track is where I tend to struggle.

The way the synths were used here was fairly intentional, but I still agree with your assessment.

Appreciate you taking the time to listen :)
