This game concept is so cool! It reminds me of stardew valley in a way with the pixel environment. Excited to see the game progress!

So you'll be shooting the invasive species with weedkiller and flamethrowers?  Well, I'd play it. Kind of reminds me of Plants vs. Zombies except it's more like Plants vs. Plants. Scope seems the right size here. Good luck!

Love this concept and the choice of using pixel graphics. Will there be a win condition? Or is it a score based game where the difficulty constantly increases until the player loses?

I think it would be a good idea to do some research into the current methods farmers use against invasive species as a flamethrower may detract from the message while you could instead find exciting game play using real world solutions

Thanks, I appreciate your feed back.

The win condition is not specified right now, but I will think of something - like a level system.

Of course using a flame thrower against invasive species is a little bit over the top, but this is a game and sometimes you have to exaggerate to get the message across. In reality insect traps and similar measures would have been more appropriate.

I like the idea of a tower defense-style shoot-em-up, but I worry that burning and attacking plants sort of goes against the "plant a seed" theme of this jam. Maybe it could be evil corporations or chemicals attacking the plants instead? The production plan could be fleshed out a little more too. Otherwise, I think the base concept can be great with a few tweaks, but the gameplay loop still seems engaging!

Thanks for commenting! I don't think there is a problem in attacking invasive plants. After all this is a reality that many farmers and gardeners have to face, and invasive species may increase due to climate change.

I would look at the game Atomicrops for both inspiration and ways to diversify. As it stands this is looking like a down-scaled version of Atomicrops and that game doesn't quite come off as a Serious Game so I hope that your narrative really pushes for your environmentalist impact.

Thanks for writing. I never heard about Atomicrops but i will check it up. What is a Serious Game?
