solid work.

small nitpick: i think the right mouse click would be more intuitive for placing items on the ground for crafting

Developer(+1)

Damn, why didn't I think of that... I'll have to test it out but it sounds like a good change.

that BDSM post-post-game minigame went hard ngl

vid:

tl;dr i actually enjoyed this a lot. i love exploration treasure stuff, the crafting system is pretty intuitive and the in game wiki is an AMAZING addition, not much else to say, the idea is simple but effective, although it does feel like a minecraft mod at the end of the day still but thats not exactly a bad thing

Thank you for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed whats currently there. Recording a video with commentary is so high value as it provides lots of insight that gets lost in text.
The island is currently not randomly generated. I'm having a hard time deciding on if I wanna pursue that path or try to put time into a more hand made experience. There is definitively a lot of loose ends that I'd like to give more depth going forward.

I've now also added a consent thing for the leaderboard since you mentioned that that would be nice in the video. I've also made it so you can remove yourself from the leaderboard if a submission had already been done.

First Impressions:

I wasn’t sure what to do, so I went into the menus. Loved that I can record my own sound effects, found the wiki from there.

After thoughts:

It’s a pretty cute treasure finding game I’d play with friends. Given it has more polish and a few more interactables in the environment. Kinda reminds me of Tall Trails. Obviously I hope the images are placeholders

Bugs: My inventory was full with dirt blocks when I opened the second chest, so I didn’t get a third map and couldn’t find it.

Something that didn’t work as I expected: I tried to craft by placing items in the same voxel, instead of multiple voxels. I guess I’m too used to vintage stories. Hitting the craft button once things were arranged felt awkward, I think it was the E button? I don’t even remember

Some pretty good feedback and thank you for the kind words. I hope I can get to a point where it feels more polished in the coming months.

I like the psx shader on inventory items, not on the terrain. makes it noisy. fine on the sky.

A torch placed on a block will remain after you destroy the block

Whoa, items that take 2 slots. actually they just enlarge the slots. that’s weird.

Opening inventory while the map is open feels wrong

The generic “use” animation feels wrong on the map, not a huge issue

The magnetic collection area for “dropped” blocks should be a bit bigger. maybe it’s not as tall as the player, I had to jump to pick up some stuff very close to the camera.

Can LMB place blocks over items you “place craft” with F, item doesn’t become pickable automatically.

scroll wheel works on the inventory while in the wiki(actually all submenus/screen seem to not block higher order inputs)

I think falling material interacts with player collision, unnecessary.

Took me 10 minutes to finally check the wiki and craft a shovel, pretty satisfying sounds. In retrospect I was trying to find a crafting table and placing a single item on the ground, then adding something to it. I stopped playing minecraft way before in game wiki, progressions and stuff.

Instead of crafting ‘split wood’ shouldn’t it say twigs?

Can see craft-placed outline through walls

This is the most solid feedback I've gotten so far. Thanks a lot! orz
