The graphics and animations are beautiful, and the gameplay mechanic is really fun. I did have a little trouble because the movement sometimes felt a bit too slippery when switching directions, but it didn't take away from the fun at all. It's just a small piece of feedback. I really enjoyed the game. Congratulations!

Now THIS is my kind of game! I love platformers and I think this is one of the best ones I've played during the jam. Felt very polished and I had fun! It was indeed a little hard, but as someone that plays mainly platformers it wasn't too hard B) This enemy tho was very evil and I died like 5 times to him... The "Rush mode"  could easily become some enemy that chases you and suddenly you have a bossfight and just a couple more levels and you have a full fledged game. Crazy that you managed to do that in a week! The only negative thing was that you couldnt start sprinting on destroyable objects, and you kind a "bonked" when trying to. I would also have liked to be able to switch direction after rolling into a wall, I don't think I could do that now without jumping?

sorry for late reply, but you can actually by holding down S

I didn't find an issue with the keybindings, but with the actual movement itself. For example, whenever I had to run right and jump off a wall, I would bounce off (still holding down right), and it would actually move me to the left while holding down right. This is something I had to adjust, it doesn't seem to be intentional so i thought you should know, I was using WASD, shift, space and fullscreen. This only happens when bouncing off (it also happens if go to the right, bounce off and keep holding right but instead you're moving to the left side). Other than that it seems real fun, had a great time. Great job!

AUAHUAHH HOW WERE THOSE SPIKES ALWAYS THERE. In all seriousness amazing game, controls were a little finicky at times but that could have definitely just been me being terrible at 2d platformers. Great game and good luck in the future!

SPLAT. poor guy. adorable game though, really enjoyed getting a nice satisfying sequence of bounces. another little white guy!

My eyes lit up with impressiveness when I entered crystal cave. This jam game is JAM full of game feel and juice. Like a capri sun on a hot summer day. :) It is tough, at least, pressing shift is tough for me, given its proximity to WASD, so I think making multiple buttons control the rolling move would be best

PEAK i did ball with this game, the music, the art, it's really cool plataformer! Got confused with the 60 thinking it was the goal, but it was the fps lmao

Really well made and the juice of the game is incredible. I found the controls a little bit non-intuitive but you have a great mechanic here!

We ballin lol

Very polished, movement is sweet and honestly felt pretty intuitive to me

Great work :D

Really great game! Love the movement! I'm not good at the game, but the few times I got into a good flow state were quite satisfying. I like the quirky sound effects for bouncing off walls. I also like the dark purple/pink/black color scheme of the visuals. This combined with the style of the player character gives it a strange mix of moody but also quirky that just works. The use of hit stop for hitting things like the crates was a nice touch to make the game feel more satisfying.

I think it is difficult to react to things in time. Perhaps the level design would need to be more spaced out to accommodate the player character's speed? I also didn't care for using WASD + Shift, but using Joy2Key to rebind to a controller helped me.

Does this game have coyote time? It seemed like sometimes my jumps didn't register by the edges. Wasn't sure if its bad timing on my end or strict/no coyote time.

I'm curious about the decision to not ricochet off walls when grounded (and not holding S). I don't know why but I keep expecting to be able to bounce off walls even if I wasn't airborne or holding down. It always felt awkward to come to a stop in this way. I do wonder if it would be more intuitive to design it the other way instead? Having the player ricochet off walls regardless if grounded or holding down. Hard to say for sure without testing it myself.

The stealth section was interesting but seems like you may have ran out of time to work on it some more. It did seem out of place in a game which expects you to have movement flow and quick reactions. Now the player is expected to stop, hide, and wait for this enemy.  Maybe you could tweak it in a way that suits this type of game better. Like maybe you get chased if caught and you have to use quick movement to get away from the enemy in time. Just one idea.

Overall, nice game! It seems like it loops at the end? So I think I technically beat it. Impressive work for one week!

wow, thanks for the amazing feedback! Coyote time was sacrificed last minute for nicer jump sustain, but I plan to add it back first time thing after the jam! As for the bouncing off walls that is a smart idea yeah, enough ppl have asked for it now where I think I gotta add it lol. Also don’t worry about not being good, I had accidentally made the game too hard and need to open up the levels afterwards. Either way tysm for the amazing feedback!! (Also yeah the game restarting is the end)

I enjoyed the game very much! Controls could be more maneuverable but that's all. Very fun and has pleasing artstyle/music. :D

Had a lot of fun with this one! I wish there were more control layouts (im an arrow-key + zx stan) but it was fine once I binded the controls to a controller.

I think all I'd like to see from a game like this is 1) Some proper hit-stop (freeze frames) every time you bounce on a wall, it's pretty difficult to process everything that's happening when you're bouncing around so much.

2) Camera that always follows and doesn't wait for the player to touch the ground sometimes (idk it happened randomly so idk the conditions), the camera would occasionally lose track of the player and wait for the player to land after falling before catching up.

Either way I liked this one a lot and it was a lot of fun to learn!

Thanks alot for the feedback! Configurable controls is certainly a common complaint but hitstops upon hitting a wall is unheard of and quite smart actually, adding more juice to every wallbounce just gives me more and more ideas on how to improve that, tysm for the feedback!

Very fun game! I was on the 3rd level and my litle guy got stuck in a crouched position. I'm adding this to my favorites

Thanks alot!! And yeah, the infinite slam of doom can be quite annoying.

It was fun and good.  I love weighty platformers with momentum

Great game with a lot of potential! Good job!

Amazingly polished game! From the character movement, aniamtions background art to the sounds and music. Remarkable work as for a week job. It is a great game even if it wasn't a week time work! Though pretty hard to master all the movements but that's probably platformers' thingy, you have to be skilled with the movement. All together very good game!

I like the game quite a lot, it is a very good warioland-like and has some great impact when you hit an enemy

Great game, loved the mechanics!

Very fun. Reminds me of Sonic a little bit with some bounce added in. I kinda expected to go one direction sometimes and launched the opposite. I don't see anyone else mentioning it so Im chalking it up to fat fingers. Great submission! Definitely beats out other platformers!
