FUCQ // Frequent User Concerns and Questions

What is lunr.rdio.taxi?

lunr.rdio.taxi is a genre-mashing rhythm+drifting game being developed by Soín, where players risk their ships in mind bending levels by "edging" (near-missing) obstacles on the way to earn big cash and become the best taxi pilot in the solar system.

___

I can't understand the mechanics! / the tutorial is too complex!

lunr.rdio.taxi is a very simple game, with very simple rules and controls. If you are confused about how to play you can access the FINO/EDGE app on the COMPÜTA desktop, where you can find text summaries of the game's main mechanics, illustrated with interactive minigames.

if that alone is not enough for you to get the grasp of it, fret not! lunr.rdio.taxi is intended to be played as an arcade-adjacent experience, where each time you play you learn more and more of the game by trial and error.

The online ghost functionality is also there to teach you! By watching where a ghost ship goes and what it does during a level can help you replicate their score and speed.

We're working constantly to improve the experience of the game's tutorials and manuals, so that experience may be better in the future.

___

Is the game coming to [insert platform name here] ?

lunr.rdio.taxi is a self funded project, and at the moment, we can only do so much. We have plans to bring the game to more audiences, but can't confirm anything yet.

___

Steam Deck compatibility?

The game is currently confirmed to run on Steam Deck with good performance, but we had an issue with AMD drivers that prevented us from delivering the full experience to Deck users. To avoid visual issues, we are currently using a workaround that disables an entire visual effects stack when the game runs on Deck, but we hope to have a better fix for that issue in the future so Deck users and AMD users can enjoy the full spectacle our game can offer.

___

When is full release?

We are currently still deep in development of the core of the game and although we do have internal targets for release we are not going to make promises.

___

Can I make my own levels/content?

The level editor for lunr.rdio.taxi is being developed as part of the game and will be available on release, and the game is being built from the ground up to support modded ships, planets, obstacle packs and more.

___

This game has too many flashing lights / spins too much! Am I gonna get sick?

We understand our game can be quite jarring to some, and even unplayable to others.
In that respect, we are planning for plenty accessibility options for the final game, of which we are already working on/accounting for:

  • color blindness
  • motion sickness
  • epilepsy
  • dislexia

___

Will the game be localized to [insert language name here]?

Currently we are developing the game in Brazilian and English simultaneously. As the game is self funded and currently we have a low budget, we can't confirm any other languages at the moment (but we have plans! for the future!)

___

Is this game woke?

Very much so, yes
