enjoyable game, and upgrades are nice, struggled a bit on later levels but the game was very nice to play, good job!

nice game. for some reason the camera rotation made me a bit dizzy.
also, in level 4, i had 2 tanks inside each other and they didn't move, so i had to go to the main menu and start the game all over again. other than that, cute game, i liked it. good job!

I love the game mechanic and roguelike upgrade make it even better. But I think choice should be more than 2, 3 should be the perfect number for that. Very nice game!

I thought the tabletop design with the dice and pencils around outside of the play area was super charming ! The gameplay is simple but enjoyable! level 3 onwards the difficulty really picks up which was fun! The audio was also really good. Overall i really enjoyed it ! well done to the team!!

Thank you very much!

This definitely has potential to be really fun. It's pretty simple and easy to understand because of how few units you have + how distinct their roles are which I like. You said the assets are kinda wack but honestly I like them, it feels like you're playing with old toys in a way which is kind of nice. And it's satisfying to breach the enemy walls and win a round. I like how you have limited currency so you have to really plan our what units to spawn.

My main complaints and why I don't find the gameplay super fun right now is;

- It feels like your troops aren't doing what they should be doing. It says infantry go for buildings and cavalry go for enemies, but it feels like every unit just goes for buildings once you breach the walls. This means that you can spawn a bunch of cavalry in hope that they focus on the enemies while your infantry go for the buildings, but what actually happens is that they all just attack the building and get wiped out. I'd like it if they prioritised the targets that make sense.
-  Also sometimes I'd spawn a battering ram and instead of destroying the wall closest to it, it would circle round the entire structure to the gate. Meanwhile they're getting pelted by catapults while doing this. It would be nice if they attacked the wall closest to it so that I can do things like breach the walls in multiple different angles.
- Lastly you should add a "you win" screen when you destroy the building instead of it immediately cutting to the mission select.

But yeah the foundations are there to have a pretty fun game, and good job with what you got done in 15 days.

We really appreciate your review.
We were playing around with the targeting and aggro of the enemy units, but, we couldn't really get the system to work correctly before the jam ended.
thank you for playing our game!

Fun game! Tanks definitely seem do be the most versatile unit; I think either lowering the cost of the ram or adding more budget between rounds could be an improvement.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your review!
You can lower the cost by getting it as an upgrade from randomized pool of rewards, but yeah ram kinda needs some improvements as a unit. We were considering adding more budget as the rounds go on, but it made it too easy lol.

Pretty good game with proc-gen maps and simple mechanics! It certainly is pretty polished as well. Great work.

Very good entry! It’s an excellent concept for a roguelike and has a lot of potential. I really hope you continue working on it. The art style is great too.

One thing I would add is a planning phase where the player has time to place their units before pressing a button to start the battle. I felt like the units attacked as soon as I placed them, so I didn’t have enough time to think or plan my strategy.

Overall, this is a very promising and enjoyable game. Great work!

Developer

Thanks you for playing! Yeah, we didn't think about this, but having a planning phase is a great idea. Thanks!

All in on cavalry! Great roguelite, fun, there is a lot of potential in, as you call it "Clash of Clans-like" roguelike genre.

Wish the units outside of infantry had little people on it to more align with the theme.

Honestly, variety in the castle defences seems there already, mostly lacking some variety in attacks, and it could be a full game experience.

Best of luck in the jam :)

Developer

Thank you for playing! Placing units in/and around units and defence units is a cool idea! Thanks!

The level generation, camera angle, and 3d assets create a really fun tabletop feel. Definitely room for improvement on the UX front, but I feel like this game has a ton of potential. Nice job!
