Really fun concept! 🌱 The art, music, and overall idea are great, and the mix of gardening with invasive species and obstacles makes it engaging.
Excited to see where this goes!
I really love the art direction you guys are taking with this! Very light and vibrant, I would love to see more plant variants as well as a further developed UI, but overall, I think you guys are moving along fine. Best of luck!
I love your idea for the game! I think it's a very clever and fun concept.
Really love the style in this game! Reminds me of old pokemon games. Looking forward to seeing your finished game!
I like the pokemon-inspired artstyle of the game thus far :3
The core concept of the game is wonderfully straightforward, which makes the gameplay highly accessible and genuinely fun. It’s easy to pick up but keeps you engaged!
The pixel art style is incredibly cute and cohesive. All the visual elements blend perfectly together, creating a charming and relaxing atmosphere that fits the garden setting flawlessly. I love the direction you are taking with the environmental theme. As a small suggestion to further elevate the impact: if you want to strongly emphasize the "invasive species" concept, consider designing the monsters/enemies based on specific, real-world invasive species (like real-life invasive bugs or weeds). Grounding the enemies in reality would significantly boost the game's educational value and make your environmental message much more thought-provoking and inspiring for the players.
Good idea! We will try to base the game on real invasive species.
The pixel art is looking very good and immediately makes me want to play more. I assume the flowers will somehow pay for better weaponry at some point? Interested to see how this evolves over the next two weeks, I will be back :)
Thank you. Yes, there will be an upgrade system I hope.
I like it, very nice style fitting the gameplay perfectly
With your pitch, I imagined your game would be some kind of tower defense but seems to be more action focused with the main player doing the work. Not saying one is better than the other but it just surprised me.
With this combat focus, may I suggest taking some inspiration from the first Ratchet and Clank? In the first RaC, Ratchet is more fragile and less mobile than all the others, making the combat more puzzle focused as Ratchet needs to maximize the usage out of all his tools. Long range, crowd control, traps, luring enemies in, it was all in there
A tower defense could have been fun. I'm not sure it make sense to have plants defending the garden against invasive species. At least I am not aware of any such plants, but I might be wrong: How to fight plants with plants
I will check up Ratchet and Clank, thanks!
