Love this!! Incredible first game jam :D
The map being hexagons is a very cool stylized choice and gameplay is awesome
This is such a cool concept. Amazing first game jam entry, great job!
cool style
Little guys civ/polytopia. Decent once you understand the rules, I finished one run-through on British Isles (I really love the real lilfe mapping).
I don't like the struggle of passing through your own villages, they give 0/0, so your armies just die trying. Felt a bit too punishing, and I could not upgrade village to city even when piling more people.
I enjoyed the powers of the villages though, the horses, boats etc. Definitely good potential for the idea, I bet quite a few would enjoy with just a bit more polish. Best of luck with the jam :D
Yeah for sure I can see that. It's easy to block yourself off with your own settlements if you aren't careful about where you plant them. Honestly, keeping the original pop cap of the tile isn't a bad fix, I wanted there to be more strategy involved with settlement placement so spamming them everywhere wasn't optimal, but its definitely a direction I could take it. Thanks for the feedback!
I really like the idea, maybe I'm wrong but I perceived it as a mix of Risk and Catan but with cute little guys, which seems interesting! Sadly I think I had some issues understanding the controls because I didn't feel like right clicking or left clicking did much, so I just found myself spamming space. Maybe some visual feedback to undesrtand when you can move to a neighbouring tile would be handy. Great work tho!
Thank you for trying the game! understanding the controls isn't easy, having a brief control tutorial might help in future.
this is not my type of game but i can imagine most people enjoying this. also the background in the main menu was kinda broken for me
thanks! Yeah it’s a little niche, do you have any more info about the menu background bug? It might actually just be working as intended, it was a very rushed job 😆
ah no I’ve seen the bug now, definitely not intentional 👍
fixed!
