Despite has no connection to the theme, yet. I like this, reminds me of that pixel soulslike game.

Gorgeous art, and the controls felt good. Shame there wasn't more of it!

I have to ask, why is there an option to turn the graphics off? I don't know why I pressed it, or why I was surprised that the graphics turn off.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I will be finishing it after I caught up with the real world, adding more gameplay too. I hate to leave the story half done.

To answer your question, settings felt empty so I added it for gigs. It's an idea from "If Quake was done today" video. Totally out of place though.

this art is AMAZING to be honest, it helps a lot with actually getting into the story that the art is so good. the animations are also very solid and the movement is quite fluid, everything is themed appropriately as well and the story is coherent. the platforming is quite fun due to this, the environment gives way to it.

onto criticism, my biggest issue was mostly with the combat. i think it could use a bit more work, it could just be because i struggled with the controls a little but it was hard and just felt like i had to mash a button.

i also think sfx could've been a rewarding and good edition to the player.

you did say you didnt have time for theme but i still have to point out the theme isnt relevant in the game.

overall good experience!

Thanks for a ton of feedback! The combat could definitely use some refinement. It's a bit experimental, the sword is raycast against the character and the sword for the parry every frame and the damage depends on where on the blade it lands. The parry animation is a bit wonky and the foes don't telegraph so it works only partially.
