Hey, hope it's not too late!
I made a game where you have to avoid enemies and rescue as many little people as possible from a steadily deteriorating situation.
It's called "Outta Space in Outer Space"! Try it out if you can.
1. i thought of the most random thing ever (potatoes bouncing on trampolines).
2. then i made it :D

all horrible design decisions made by me! enjoy!

This game is about a team of ants saving the ant queen from different insect-like monsters. Each monster needs a specific type of damage and you can perform combos to increase your damage
Here’s my game called Dudes Assemble!

Big inspirations for it were the games How Many Dudes? and Brotato. I feel like my go-to when making games is usually a more serious approach, so I really wanted to mix it up and make a more silly game. I wanted to incorporate some goofy cartoon logic and came up with the idea of controlling a swarm of tiny dudes that you can merge into weapons/attacks.
Since I have more experience as an artist, I enjoyed making art and animating the most, but coding was also fun. While frustrating, it’s very exciting once I get something to work properly.
Biggest challenge was coding the logic for the dude swarm and getting the enemies to work correctly. I also overscoped and had to cut a lot of content and change up some mechanics during the development

ill rate your game too

I started making this game around the halfway point of the jam after deciding to scrap my original idea because I wasn't happy with how it was turning out.
The main inspiration came from a game I saw on Twitter that had blood splatters which stayed on the screen. I thought that effect looked really satisfying, so I built the game around that idea.
One of my favorite parts of development was creating the art and experimenting with the visual style. I wanted the game to feel fast, punchy, and satisfying to play.
The biggest challenge was balancing. I spent a lot of time adjusting the economy, enemies, bosses, and upgrades based on feedback to keep the game fun throughout the run.
I found out about about the jam one week in... my game is Rate The 4: A puzzle platformer by IM WXJXN for The Brainless Game Jam - itch.io THANK YOU! Honest but good feedback apreciated! (I only have 3 ratings so far.)
My game is called the Sleeping Orchestra
This is my second game jam, so it might be a little unpolished, but I tried my best! I'm mainly a programmer, but I also messed around in a DAW for the first time to pick out and recreate some short phrases from the soundtrack.
I've always wanted to make a music game, so I figured this jam was the perfect opportunity.
Hope you enjoy it!
here's mine! i spent waay to long on figuring why the export wasnt working haha /jam/brainless-game-jam/rate/4757950
Here is ours! You create an army by mixing ingredients in a cauldron and then you fight enemies in an arena!
They are VERY CUTE!! Trust me!:

So our game is The Sting, an homage to Punch Out starring a swarm of bees: /jam/brainless-game-jam/rate/4775727
Personally I've done several game jams using Godot in the past but I wanted to challenge myself in learning how to use Unity as well as FMOD integration. As the programmer, there were a ton of challenges from tracking inputs and coordinating them with combos and fight scene logic in a way that's fairly modular. Nevertheless I am really proud of how far we came despite some shortcomings due to time constraints. My team is actually super eager about doing a post-jam build that I'd be really excited for everyone to try! Not only will we be polishing the combat to make it more responsive with more visual/auditory feedback, we got ambitions to adding new content as well :D
Hi! See if you could play my game: /jam/brainless-game-jam/rate/4782985
I have tried to enter jams before (3 times before), but I never managed to submit earlier. Worse, the first 2 times, I didn't manage to even start, as no idea seemed "perfect", or the scope of it all in my head intimidated me.
I was more determined this time, and also, I had just learned about pico 8. I hadn't coded in 15 years since I left college, and in the previous jams I was always trying to get away with no code tools, but this time I decided to actually hand code, and I think that made a difference. So much of the fun was just for my mind to open back up in those old ways, creating algorithms, writing data structures and just putting a puzzle together. And pico 8 does help in making us not increase the scope much. (And yet I spent 50% of the time just on my ship's look and animations 😅)
Another helping factor was that I had always wished to include my brother in the project with me, he has a mind for music which I simply don't.
And of course we had a good time catch up to Odyssey adaptations as part of our "research", and got us prepped for the coming movie so that was its own joy!
So yeah, my story is that of someone who wished to run and cross the finishing line.
Hi Guys Rate my Game and i will rate yours!!!!!
Little Lumber Company: https://everywhere-brute.itch.io/little-lumber-company
absolutely fun game to play one of the highest ratings ive given!
here's ours : Rate Magemania by seven_msk, ordian, BitterIris, Drpedout for The Brainless Game Jam - itch.io
Here's mine : https://shimanwz.itch.io/sweat-little-guys
The Idea came to me the day after the theme was revealed when I was having currant jam for breakfast! Then it was all maniacally writing down ideas and brainstorm. The output was this game: You own a jam shop and you make the jams in your shop yourself. One day you came back from the garden and have some black currants in the basket on the counter. Little Red Currants that are unhappy of losing their friends, run in the shop and try to rescue their friends from the basket. The CRUEL JAM MAKER you are, catch these tiny guys and store them in the jar while you fulfill customers' orders. And your goal is to make jam out of these tiny heroes before it's too late...
https://zsouldev.itch.io/smol-hordes
i was kinda inspired by a bug in my previous game:Serious Spinning, basically there was a bug where all the blocks would crowd around you and follow you, so i decided to make a game about small things crowding around you. i was gone for a bit, so i missed the first week of the jam.
I really liked making all the art/levels, it really calmed me down, and helped me keep going!
Have fun :3
LITTLE LUMBER COMPANY: https://everywhere-brute.itch.io/little-lumber-company
https://biornyk.itch.io/slimix
It's a game where you control 10 slimes all at the same time. Although I didn't spend much time on it and rushed, I'm really proud of it and I think that it's genuinely one of my best works.
