Cool idea, the gameplay is fun but repetitive. Would be nice if things were introduced gradually, instead of having to read and memorize so much information at the beginning. Sound effects would be nice too.
Thank you!
Yeah unfortunately I ran out of time to introduce a proper tutorial ToT
And sound effects were - admittedly - because I was too much of an amatuer and ran out of time to actually properly implement it (I mean, it's space. Sound can't travel in space, so it checks out XD)
Great Game! i liked the diffrent kind of enemys there were creative
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :D
Was actually a bit worried as there were only 2 enemies and I thought they weren't enough XD
nice game! this game really does get hard bro, really enjoyed art, and the enemies were quite unique from eachother, top of my head no real complaints!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Your game's a nice cozy break :D
I love the art! Great game! Idk if it was intentional but I was swarmed with too many dangers before I could get used to how everything worked so maybe it needs a difficulty climb?
Thanks for trying it out!
Well, the game does have a climb! I actually tweaked the enemy spawns and their healthpoints across a 4 minute long, 4 phased game. If it's not too much trouble, and if you have the time, I would love to hear more elaboration on this! Feedback would be greatly appreciated. :D
It's fun tossing the little guys around with the mouse--good execution on the main concept!
Nice job overall!
Thank you! I'm glad you found it so!
Hoping to polish it in the future!
Very cool game! Story, sounds and visual design are all great! I love how cute the critters are! Really motivates you to save them all. (I didn't. Sorry little ones)
As advertised, things got chaotic. Very chaotic. At some point I just used one guy to baseball others around, since moving more than 2 at a time is way to challenging, for my skill level at least.
I think this game has a lot of potential for cool upgrades that help you save the critters, such as letting you drag more at once, maybe being able to place a bubble shield on one to protect him while juggling others, increasing the time frame for the extraction and so on.
I had fun playing! Great game!
Thank you for trying out my game! Yours was a dopamine blast too.
Those... are fascinating suggestions! I will definitely look into them.
Interesting game concept. Though it is kinda hard to move 2 guys at once. 5 stars gameplay though ^^
Thanks! I initially was gonna make it 3 guys to start, but thank God for playtesting XD
Very chaotic but fun experience, i love just seeing them go trough space when i throw them, they seem so helpless hahahah
Thanks, glad that you enjoyed it! That's the idea. They are stranded in space and are sitting ducks without an external intervention: You!
fun little space game, i loved the little funny guy there. good job!
Thanks for the kind words! Hope the textwall wasn't too much...
Amazing!!
Thanks!
super chaotic fun game 5 stars across the board from me, i wish there was a visual indicator for which guy was selected cuz i used the dash alot . great game and even more impressed its ur first game jam!
id like to add the tutorial was well built and dint just throw u in but i kinda threw myself in because i had no idea what each enemy looked like when it was explained so i skipped it
I can't really blame you T-T
The tutorial was very rushed... I didn't even have a day left for that XD
I can consider adding a visual indicator in the future as I familiarize myself with the engine more!! Thank you for the suggestion :D
I LOVED the story. The gameplay was so fun and the art looked so coherent. The only thing that bugged me a bit was when the little enemies in the beginning spawned exactly on top of my little guys it was instant damage... I didn't have any time to take them out of their way but other than that, neatly done. great job!
Thanks for the kind words :D
I'm assuming you mean the yellow guy? Yeah... the only tell I had for that one was a barely noticeable spark. Perhaps I can add an exclamation mark in the future!
The ultimate high cortisol game, I get overwhelmed after 3 critters are introduced. But really fun, and a good difficulty curve!
Thanks for the kind words :D
And to think I was going to make 3 the default XD (thank God for solo playtesting)
i underestimated how hard this game could be lol
loved flinging the guys around after accidentally discovering spacebar pulls the last guy you clicked really fast
Thanks for trying it out
I was actually quite afraid someone was going to find that out eventually XD
Early on I used UI buttons as a means of making the guys clickable, before finding out probably one or two days before the deadline that it was probably a disaster waiting to happen. By that point fixing such an integral part of the game was risky so I left it in XD
Nice game, I like the art and the fact the game has a story unlike any game I have every made.
Thanks! The story was in my head for quite awhile but unfortunately I wasn't able to do it justice during the jam's time frame D: (for better anyway... it probably wasn't that fleshed out yet ahaa
Super fun game, goddam those critters and their complete lack of basic self-preservation sense. If they weren't so cute they'd be in big trouble
I liked the little narrative you laid out, and the gameplay explanation started off really well with the "here's a guy, fling him around!" that's perfect. Unfortunately, the rest of the explanation sort of just became a wall as you know, I think just continuing how you started by letting the player have a go and introducing the mechanics/hazards one at a time with the brief explanation at that point instead of up-front would do wonders here.
The gameplay itself is super engaging, like herding cats trying to keep my critters alive and the hazards get more and more frantic. It would've been cool to get some interaction between hazards, since you can kind of "aim" the sawblade things I kept wanting to shoot the yellow guys with them, that would be a fun addition if you plan to work on it more.
Big fan of the art style and the music was fitting, would've liked a few sound effects (especially for my little critters as they bounced around), but it is space so technically accurate silence haha. Also, a bit too much default godot in UI components/fonts.
Overall this is a really strong entry and a fun game, keep it up!
Wow! Suggestions galore! I'm gonna love this :D
Initially I was planning to make it a scenario where the moment a threat was introduced, a button would pop up allowing you to pause the game and it'll open up an infographic about what the enemy's all about. Unfortunately I ran out of time so I had no choice but to resort to what I did ToT
I had more enemies planned as well, like movable rubble that had a concealed laser that would mess up both the critters and the enemies alike. But I quickly realized that scope creep was about to breathe down my neck and had to make do with what I had done. Mistakes were made and learned from I guess ahaha
I was already struggling to finish the game as it is and the music was also on the day before the deadline itself XD
I planned to have phased music where it becomes more ominous as it goes along but quickly realized I probably can't finish it. I didn't have a solid DAW and Maestro was... a pain to work with, so there's that.
As for sounds and UI... well, since it's my first jam, I thought "We can polish those skills later, for next jams or projects probably." And so it was. The fact that I even got the game out and that people found it fun was a one-in-a-hundred miracle in itself.
I'm glad that I was able to learn many lessons in this jam, like managing scope better and cleaner code infrastructure.
Thanks for your feedback! I greatly appreciate it. Would probably look into finding a solid DAW!
What a fun, chaotic experience! I never expected to panic this much while trying to save the workers. The variety of hazards was also really impressive! My only suggestion is that a faster, more intense background track would have fit the chaotic vibe much better.
Thank you for your kind words!
I REALLY would have loved to add a more hectic track to the game. Was even thinking like I would change them based on phases; it ramps up as it goes. Alas... I am only human...
And I'm still looking for a solid DAW. I did the music on a phone app T-T
P.S. I hope the textwall wasn't too much...
boriiiiiing!!!!!
Sorry you found it that way D: I'm still dipping my feet into the scene.
(Actually I saw your stream for my game and would like to clarify that you were supposed to try and save as many of them as you can by dragging them into the arrows, and avoid killing any of them.
I would have tried to code a more comprehensive tutorial instead of that textwall but I ran out of time, big sadge.)
The creativity for this game is out of the charts. I like it. And the lore at the start of the game was definitely a nice touch.
Thanks for the kind words! Looking forward to improving my craft.
I just have a feeling that this game is SO SO SO GOOD and the theme and creativity i mean i have to be honest.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
