First of all: I had fun with the game! But for some reason there was no sound for me, I don't know if there is even sound :/
The implementation of the Themed Item (Candle) is pretty straight forward, but it works for this game and the amount of characters is CRAZY. In a game like this it's really important, since the gameplay is looping and needs a lot of variety. Well done!

Had so much fun with this game. Has many similarities to vampire survivors but also some cool new stuff such as having each character added to your team over time and the candle mechanic. Some audio would really enhance this experience, also a few animations and weapons feel unpredictable/seem a bit off. I can't really complain, probably played for over an hour, really good job, solid game here.

I really enjoyed the game! I'm a big fan of the Vampire Survivors style, so I liked the mechanics you implemented here. The only thing I felt was missing was some sound effects/audio.

As someone who played vampire survivors and 20 Mins till dawn, I really liked this one. It was cool to have groups of goblins instead of multiple weapon/attack patterns. I like pixel art, and the goblins that you did are good and have the same structure so they're easily reproducible, smart! Liked the enemy designs too, one reminded me of the castle crasher boss that flies.  There's no audio, but since you're solo dev that's understandable. Some of the visuals look a little funny, the clonk goblin specifically has a bit of a weird animation when you upgrade him to swing multiple times. Also didn't realize that I could pick up the candles until I read the description. Great game!

A neat take on the classic formula. I particularly liked how you incorporated the candles.

My only complaint is the font size - it's a bit too goblin-scaled for my human eyes.

Developer

Thanks, I'll scale it up a bit next time I'm working on it.

I haven't played vampire survivors before but I really enjoyed this:

- I like the concept of getting multiple goblins and cycling through them.

- i'm impressed with how many goblins and enemy variants there are (my fav was grunk!)

- Idk if you've ever played minecraft dungeons but in that game you can enchant weapons (like in your game), and my favorite enchantment is called growing (makes weapons huge), and your game scratched that itch lol

- Nicely implemented candles

- The upgrade tree was very cool

Feedback:

- I wish there were more enemy types (the glowy boss like enemies were nice, i would like more of that)

- I like the idea of having 4 strong goblins, but i like the idea of having 100 weak golbins too (maybe as an additional mode where exp gain is limited but there's no cap to the goblin count?)

- The weapons auto aim, but maybe some of them could aim where I'm facing (like the bow). I get it if you don't agree with this

- I got a bit overpowered at the end, maybe making it so that every 25 levels a random goblin is killed could mix things up?

Overall super fun entry, great job

I really appreciate that feedback, I didn't have enough time to implement everything I want but as I was testing on the last day I got over powered a little to easily too, I was thinking a hunger bar and making you have to chase around chickens or something would be an interesting side objective to keep your goblins going or else their health drains.
I don't know how I could manage the performance but 100 goblins sounds ridiculous and fun, I'm gonna try it later.
