Solid concept but could use a little more forgiving difficulty early on and a little more visual/auditory feedback. Still incredibly solid for what I was able to play of it. Great job!
Well done. What a charming game with just a one-button interface. Absolutely gorgeous and a lot of fun. As you know, I am not a "good player", so I would wish
1. A much bigger hitbox on the apple. It is frustrating and annoying that you fly through the apple and see "nah, not quite, sooorry". I understand that a bigger hitbox would kill the challenge, so: make the apple at least thinner, so you do not fly right through it and it does not count. I still made all 20 levels, though ;-)
2. Slightly slower swing and/or some slo-mo turn. If it would take another button/key, that's probably not what you want, so what about: Slower swing when you connect a new candle and the swing (rotation) speeds up the longer you are connected!?
I would also like more different candles. Eg:
- Different swing speeds
- Candles that attract even without connecting would be nice
- Maybe "Dark Candles" that pushes the moth away
Whatever: Well done, really cool game! Make it "full" :-)
Nice game! Played all levels in easy and hard difficulty
I think the gameplay loop is solid, and surprisingly in depth for a 1 button game. Things I liked:
- I like you can either push away from a candle or go around it depending on your timings
- The billboard artstyle is fun, good lighting
- The minimap feature is great
Feedback:
- My main feedback is on the level design. Most levels feel almost identical, only the candle placements change. this makes most levels cheesable in the easy difficulty (since you can just get a good angle on the first candle and zoom to the end. The hard difficulty makes the game a lot more fun and interesting and should be the main mode in my opinion!
- If you want to take this further I'd recommend removing the diffculties and instead making different kinds of candles: a candle that has to be touched, a candle that doesn't need to be touched, a candle that has to be touched twice, a candle that kills you, ect. using these in tandem could make for some cool levels imo.
I enjoyed this entry, I can see this being a very nice one-button mobile game
Very unusual concept with a cool execution.
Thanks so much! If anything, yours was the one with a very nice execution lol !
When I was in the 5/6 tutorial, no fruit appeared. I failed several times before realizing it seemed to be a bug.
Additionally, this perspective does add a sense of freshness to the gaming experience.
Hi, step 5/6 is where you have to click r to restart! Hope you had some fun with the game!
This is game that I don't think I have seen anywhere before. The gameplay (while simple) is very original and entertaining. I do think it could benefit from some sort of tutorial, but it's simple enough to get the hang of. And a quality-of-life thing: the camera should start more zoomed out. It won't really affect gameplay, but it would be nicer for the players.
Thanks so much! Yes the original idea was what I was going for (haven't seen anything like it yet :D).
I was thinking about a tutorial but I was like that would be too hard to make but I'll see if I can code it up in a few hours. I agree with a little more zoomed out, and I'll implement that too!
Thanks so much for the review!
