Interesting, I liked the walking/running animation, and the main game loop was solid. One thing I can offer is that it seems there's a loading hitch the first time a couple of the VFX are displayed in game - you can get around this by preloading them offscreen (or just in a .hide() node) in the game's splash screen, and that way the loading hit won't be visible to the player.
