Very nice graphics and UI, and I enjoyed the music. Being able to switch between universes and do things was a fun mechanic. Good world development, using graphics, characters, music, and themes. I appreciated the notification dot showing what tabs had actions I needed to address.

Ha ha, the story got so random, but it was funny!

My main complaint was the times that I had nothing to do, such as waiting for the parallel processing, luminescent biomes, tadpole splicing, etc. to finish. And when I needed to click, I couldn't speed it up at all because you have to wait between each click.

Also, by the 3rd universe, it started to get a little monotonous, feeling like I was doing all the same things just with different names. It would be nice to have a feeling of progression of what I'm doing, maybe some type of upgrades or a new action. I admit, I stopped playing before the end because I got a little bored. But I made it to the 5th universe.

You have a great foundation here, so just keep working on it and I'm sure the game will continue to improve!

This is neat, very on-theme and I love how the music and art changes with each universe. I do however agree with Llama about the game loop. The main problem for me was that it was the same exact sequence of actions every time, even with the same numbers. 0.38/click -> researcher -> research -> 1.38/click -> resource -> city equivalent -> researcher -> resource -> research -> unlock lab in next universe... Initially, going back and forth between the planet in one and the city in another was good... until I was doing it with every pair of universes. Basically, I think it needed more jumping around, more things to 'shake up' the loop, and more things for the researchers to do. It's almost like a management game with one thing to manage.

I still had some fun, despite the negativity, and that doesn't track from the aesthetics and uniqueness of the game. I could easily see this working for me with further development!

yeah I had all these grand ideas about different mechanics for each universe but I didn't have time to implement them. thank you for the detailed analysis, that will help me figure out ways to make the loop a bit more interesting in the future!

It's a neat game, the lore is cool and it's very on-theme. The music is great too, very fitting & catchy.

It feels a little tedious that the research is unlocked AFTER you finish with all the "increase resonance in this area" clicks, ultimately the loop is to click a bunch, assign a researcher, then wait for a while and kinda just stare at the screen haha.

The writing is really good. Some of the humor is a little heavy-handed but most of the jokes land pretty well. Overall a nice little game and I enjoyed it, good job!

Thank you! I agree that the writing and the music are great; thank you to my collaborators!!

Yeah, I definitely didn't hit the mark on the game loop. I think it could use another pass after the jam. I think you're right about the order of unlocks not being quite right.

I like the art style and lore.

I'm not sure I fully understand what we need to do in the game and couldn't progress that much.

Developer

thank you! that's fair. I don't think I did a good job of making the game intuitive. if you just continue researching things should open up.

I enjoyed the game!

Developer

thanks!

Still time for a little bug fixing. Having a lot of trouble assigning researchers - managed it for the first research after a lot of clicking, couldn't get it for any subsequent with either of the researchers. Would really like to see the universe saved!

Thank you! changed the text on the button tooltip to hopefully be a lot clearer about how the assign researcher popup works!
