Very neat concept! I got stuck on level 2 and couldn’t open any more doors. Also, I got a bow but couldn’t shoot with it.

Developer

Thanks! The bow also requires you to pick up a quiver to use which gives you 5 arrows. Most of the doors are one sided meaning if you get stuck behind one you can walk back out. The arrows can then be used to destroy blocks.

this retro is even more retro than most retros in this retro game jam. I didn't read the "how to play" just the controls so I was like "hey cool" when I figured out the switching mechanics. It's all about abusing the shoddy AI in these old school games...

As others have mentioned you really nailed the theme here, but there's also some great attention to detail like with how the music changes pitch when you change characters and the chasing hammer, it's touches like that I could imagine some of the atari developers coming up with back in the day. Really cool, nice work

Nice job!

Solid, original concept, and a very authentic look and feel! A little *too* authentic with the audio though, my ears hurt lol

I felt like I was playing the Atari, so you definitely nailed that aesthetic!

the game is quite funny, and I would say a little unclear at the beginning. Overall, not bad!

Fun idea and interesting puzzle mechanics! I will say I did find the music a little bit high pitched which hurt my ears a tiny bit haha, definitely accurate for the retro time period you were going for though! Great job on this!

Developer

Thanks! Music is not my strong suit. I tried a few variations but not sure any of them were much better. FYI there is a slider in settings on the main menu that can be used to reduce the music volume.

this genuinely nails the atari feel. great job. fun mechanic to play with too!

Nice puzzle game, it's fun to have to manage both characters at once. Since there are only 2, I think there should just be one button to change characters, it's confusing when you don't know which arrow you need to press to swap.
Also the music fits the vibe, but is a little too high pitched and is a tad unpleasant.

Janus is also a name of an important character in Deus Ex Universe

As an old gamer, you really nailed the look and feel of the game.

The music tho... It might be accurate, but it was quite harsh.
