Theme Interpretation
Voidwright is built to feel like an old vector arcade cabinet. Everything is drawn as glowing phosphor lines on a black CRT, with scanlines, pixel-font readouts, and a chiptune bleep for every action. The loop itself is retro too: it's the Qix / Snake lineage of "draw a loop, claim the space you enclosed," dressed up as a cartographer's terminal.

This was fantastic! Really cohesive design between the art and audio. Loved the blend of retro Qix-like games with the more modern roguelike incremental upgrades. Great project!
Thank you for playing I really appreciate you π
This is definitely one of the best in the jam. The audio is good and didn't wear out it's welcome, the concept is fun, and the controls were good. I think my only suggestion would be to limit how sharply the player can turn. It would prevent accidental double-backing instantly killing you, while also making the player's movement a little more constrained for a bit more difficulty.
Thank you for taking some time to play my game Wyatt.
I have a plan to continue this game after the jam has ended, all controls will be getting updated. I have already drafted a lot of new boons, i have plan for a fully expanded void with maybe some enemy ships and other things. Still working on that part :)
Amazing submission! I love the art. How did you create the fog effect? It really caught my attention.
Thank you Andres! the fog effect was created using a custom shader I made! :)
Hi! The fog mechanics were pretty fun. Good controls and a simple gameplay format that was easy to understand. The first couple of times I tried, I kept crashing into my lane, but then I figured out how to play and it became fun right away.
well i am really glad you learned how to play and had fun! Thank you very much Rombikro :)
Such a stylish game ! The vibe is incredible and the game feels very polished
Thank you for playing Marie
Very fun game. I got pretty far picking everything that mentioned the Mega Flare but then forgot you insta die if you touch your trail and just went A -> D and died XD. I can see myself playing this after the jam ends, great job!
Thank you for playing omaga
OK This game hooked me Im jealous.
At first Im unsure what to do until I see the beacons and I knew I have to connect them and also evade the rocks.
And then somehow the game behaves like snake and I have to evade my tail too.
This game kinda neat. Looking forward to Steam Fest Demo.
Good choice of BGM too.
Thank you for playing π
Very pretty game, and sounds great too!
It took me some time to understand the goal - I assumed I had to make a loop with my path, but it's about tiles instead.
This may be the rare game where "tank controls" would be easier.
I had someone ask me about tank controls, i feel like it wouldn't be viable because you can die from your own trail. But maybe this will be a thing to look into! Thank you for playing and the positive feedback Simon <3
Really great game idea! I could see this becoming popular with a few months of tuning and polish.
thank you for the feedback Francis
Played this one for a long, long while, enough so that I forgot to rate it and had to come back specifically to do so, which probably says enough about how fun I've found it to be. The upgrades can be 'cheesed' into quite unbalanced combinations, but it doesn't detract from the enjoyment of it too much
thank you for playing for a long while. I know the boons and pacts can be cheesed, i was going to try to balance it more but i was happy enough with what i had, and if i take this further than the jam then everything would be properly balanced out! <3
Cool concept and very polished execution. Lots of replayability for a jam entry!
Thank you π
Crazy good. A 3D version would be cool! Best game I've played on this game jam.
Thank you π
Excellent little game!! Fun and i really like the vibe, great job! =)
Thank you
i had fun playing this!!!
Thank you π
Really enjoyed playing this one! I actually remember playing it a bit while developing mine and using it as a break haha, super fun concept and very fun mechanics with the boons/pacts!
Thank you for playing Steve, I really appreciate the feedback
Really enjoyed the game loop, spent way longer playing it than I originally meant to. I really love the art in the game and the music has a nice vibe. My only complaint is that accessing different settings using specific buttons was a bit annoying.
if i ever plan to work on this full time, i will probably fully remap the controls! Thank you for playing <3
Amazing game loop, but it's very annoying when accidentally tapping the opposite movement key is instant death. The graphics and music ties together very well.
thank you for playing the game, if i work on this full time i will probably redo the entire control system <3
Great game! I kept dying while overlapping with my wake lol, the game is simple and fun, good job!
thank you very much for taking the time out of your day to play my game <3
Youβre welcome! Feel free to check my game out
