Gameplay is super fun and I really enjoyed the simple combat! all the items/enemies flashing when they got hit was a nice little flourish, music was great and overall it's a really solid submission! well done!
Such a cutie game, I'm a sucker for cats. Loved the art and animations. The other cats were so mean!!
I thought of making almost exactly this game awhile ago for another jam, so cool to see it get made, and so well too! So fun to play, I wish there were more levels!
We did originally intend three levels, but life got in the way sadly :(
Very cute and fun! I'm curious who did the sound effects and music cus those were very on theme and sounded good! Love love love the art. As a parent of two kitties this made me miss them cus I'm away right now. Aesthetically super cohesive and lovely. Gameplay was fun too! Would love to see a game like this developed further!
Thank you! For the sound effects, some of them I generated using https://www.bfxr.net/, and some I created in Ableton Live using FAMISYNTH-II and Magical 8bit Plug. I also used those VSTs to make the title and win screen music. The other two tracks (for the level and the lose screen) I found on itch.
Cats are always fun! I love that you can choose which one to play with!
Adorable cat / 10. I LOVE IT
Right up my alley! I was ready to play a lot more levels :D
The cucumbers made me laugh. They really are the worst.
Cats and the art are a special kind of joy.
The stand-in for coins being objects you have to knock off of tables… such a good idea. Really cute really good!
Wonderful game! The art style is very cute, and the gameplay is quite fun. I can see the game being great for speedrunning. The only real problem I can mention is that while I didn't experience it myself, someone watching me playing commented on how they found the background very distracting. They couldn't focus on the cat during movement.
Good job!
(Also thank you for adding the meow button 🐈️)
The Music! The Art! The dedicated meow button! This is probably the cutest art in the jam I love this
The art is just so cute
Roomba trashing and first cat game I've seen taking into account the hostility between cats, 10/10 x)
The owner of this place sure is gonna be pissed
Fun concept and I think it was executed purrfectly (haha). Woulda liked to see more with the gameplay loop, but the visuals, controls, and audio design reeled me in. Nice job.
This gave me a wave a nostalgia reminding me of the old toy story gameboy game, i dunno if you were inspired by that at all. But it was super fun to smack everything! I also spammed meow even though it didn't seem to do anything. I was sad it didnt seem possible to loaf in the beds! Also noticed a typo on the game page, it says left and right arrows are jump, I was confused why every button was gonna be a jump before playing lol. Nice work!
You should be able to loaf anywhere, including on the beds! At one point it was also possible to ride on the roombas (loafing or otherwise) but I managed to break that right before submission, haha. Thanks for playing!
(Also thanks for pointing out the typo - fixed!)
I obviously enjoyed causing havoc as a cat lol! It would have been nice if the different cats had something that made them different to play.
I agree, that was one of our stretch goals! Thanks for playing :)
