Theme Interpretation
Our game has a retro feel because it uses simple pixel art assets. The gameplay also focuses on straightforward platforming mechanics rather than complex systems, giving it the feel of an older arcade or console game.

The idea of this game is pretty cool, and the art is good aswell, the only downside is the difficulty of not having jump or smth.

Like the concept. But I am to bad at video games to play this game xD

Neat concept, gets a lot out of the basic claw mechanic and the heavy difficulty, definitely feels very arcade-y.

It'd be nice if there was more of a variety of jumps to make, felt like most of them were pixel hunting corners.

The background art is quite nice. Overall solid game.

the claw mechanic is always cool...but it is pretty difficult in this game is not it? It would have been nice to being able to jump in addition to the claw....the small story you came up with is cool!

Its very hard to progress in this game, i wish there was some kind of grace period, so you dont have to be pixel perfect.

Developer

Haha yeah 100% agree with your comment, originally I wanted there to be multiple solutions to solve some of the platforming puzzles rather than just pixel-perfect placement of the hook, but due to time and expertise constraints, a lot of the platform designs ended up being that way. I’ll try to put more of a priority on level design and balancing rather than it being the same every time, but thank you for leaving a comment ^^

I might just be bad at platformers, but the movement felt really difficult to use. I couldn't get past the first few platforms, which is unfortunate because I do quite like the aesthetic of the game.

Developer

We tried to make a simple yet difficult game for our first game jam, but in retrospect, the balancing went out the window as we rushed to finish it over the last two days ^^; so the initial few platforms were quite a hurdle. We’ll definitely take that into consideration for our next (small) game when we decide to do this again. We’re very happy you gave it a try and massive thanks for leaving a comment :)

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but I can't figure out how to get to the second platform hahaha, its like I don't have enough speed to make it after hooking the vertical wall on the left. Would love to give it another shot if there is something im doing wrong (or maybe a skill issue haha)

The idea of a foddian-like (if that is what this is going for) with a hookshot is a super cool concept!

Developer

Thanks for trying the game! And haha you’re right that was the genre we were aiming with (I didn’t realise there was a name for it, so thanks for teaching us!). I was also rage-baited by my own past self when I was testing the game, so it definitely is tricky.
