Submission Description
For my album, I went with the idea of this colossal, rusty mech from a bygone era. To further this theme I used a big band orchestra to illustrate the "epicenes" of the era, while also mixing in a few synths to go with the mechanical theme.

This is solid! I think there's decent bit of variety between all of the tracks and conveys the story you're trying to tell well. I think I like Abandon Field the most - it does a really good job nailing an "eerie" feeling, but still maintains enough to be interesting to the ears. I'm going to echo the comments squirrel made about the dynamics and samples. I think some wider ranges of tempo between tracks would be a nice little boost as well.
Good work!
Thanks for the feedback, yeah you can definitely tell I was going through a low tempo phase while writing a lot of the tracks lmao.
Hey! This was a pretty impressive album, given the sound quality of your samples. This album would be top notch once you can get a handle on the dynamics for the instruments. To me they sound a bit fake, and I know where that is coming from because I was the same way. But there are ways around to make bad samples to sound good. Reverbs help a lot. Plus, using the CCs and drawing the dynamics for the instruments.
Your strings were where I had the most issues with. They sort of just cut off and don't transition well from one note to the next. The best way to fix that is to overlap your notes, draw dynamics, and use the modwheel if it has one. Other then that, you did a really great job with this! Solid work. The music is great, it is just the samples and quality that is holding this one back.
Bravo! I liked all the songs, especially those last two.
Hey! Sorry for the abysmally late reply. I really appreciate you checking out my tracks. I agree in hindsight reverb and drawing dynamics for some of the instruments would had gone a long way.
Genuinely will be using your feedback for future use, especially on strings, cannot stress enough how much I appreciate the tips.
You're welcome! Take care! That is the way of music, always learning!
