I love this game! The soundtrack was really nice, and it felt very retro. I won by running past the enemies, which felt a bit like cheating XD the fighting was pretty good for a game jam game, I didn't run into any bugs. A couple of points that would improve it for me would be:

  • Randomise the gunshot soundeffect (can use an AudioStreamRandomizer) by a couple of semitones, so its not too repetitive.
  • Add health bars above the enemies

Great submission!

Oh also, I had some issues with web mouse capture - I accidentally hit escape twice and then my mouse was free, and had to restart the game. The best way I've found to deal with this is when clicking resume on the menu, re-set the mouse capture mode to captured. That way there's a way to get back into the gameplay. (But mouse capture on web seems really annoying generally so I'm not lowering my rating because of this)

Agree with the other comment that zooming past the enemies def seems to be the best strategy, but I grew to enjoy the zooming. The room randomization was very cool, I liked the aesthetic of the blue rooms. Ran into a bug where I'd immediately get put down to 80 HP on respawn, and I found one door that led outside of the map, but still managed to escape after 5 or 6 attempts. Cool game, and congrats on jam #1 in the books!

I really liked this; the vibe of the game kind of reminded me of System Shock at first, which was cool. I had a hard time seeing the bullets in the blue room due to the colors, but besides that, this was a really neat 3D jam game.

Boomer shoter in space, thats cool. Music and movement is insane.

Made it to the end! Love the fast movement and the level layout was pretty good!

Thanks! We should have put in the description the level changes every time you die or restart! Some rooms are a bit rare and you may not get them everytime.

That's very cool!

I escaped! After shooting some aliens, I started running past them :D

I like gamejam games with an end, good job on that. Maybe less damage but faster/more bullets would have stopped someone like me from running through.

Rock on!
