Hi! I'm the solo dev behind AFKFishing, an idle/AFK pixel-art fishing game built in Phaser 3 +
TypeScript. It's live on itch.io in alpha, currently at v1.0.0, with a fairly deep loop already
built out: 6 fishing environments (plus 6 harder "Mystery" versions), 798 fish species, rod/bait/
bomber crafting, a Trophy Room, achievements, a live leaderboard, and a trade board.

WHAT I NEED:
Right now most of the game's sprites are placeholder/generated or reused across a lot of fish —
I'd love an artist to help give some of it real, distinct pixel art. Some ideas, pick whatever
interests you:
- A handful of signature fish sprites (especially the rarer "chase fish" species)
- UI polish — icons, buttons, panel backgrounds
- Anything else you see and want to take a crack at — genuinely open
Also open to any other kind of help (composer for music/SFX, another programmer, etc.) if pixel
art isn't your thing but you want to get involved.
WHAT I CAN OFFER:
This is a volunteer/passion-project ask, not a paid gig right now — but I can offer:
- Full credit in-game and on the itch.io page
- A revenue share if the game ever earns anything on itch.io
- A real shipped, playable game to point to for your portfolio
Style reference: pixel art, similar scale to the existing sprites on the itch.io page (linked
above) — happy to share the current sprite sheets so you can match the vibe, or go a different
direction if you've got a pitch for a visual refresh.
Comment here or DM me if interested — happy to share more detail, the current asset sheets, or a
build to try out.
