The logo is a genuinely smart bit of design. "RETRIEVE YOUR" in white with "HIGH SCORE" inside a red octagonal stop sign, so it says the jam's theme and the game's theme at the same time. Well thought out. Putting the controls right next to the PLAY button on the title screen is simple and does the job, and the hand drawn police car on fire on the lose screen has a chaotic charm that fits the white on black scribble style.

Here's my problem, and it was the most extreme case I've hit in this jam: all three times I pressed PLAY, the game jumped instantly to "BOOM !!! YOU LOST". Not a single frame of gameplay. I reloaded the page and tried again, same thing every time. The Restart button didn't bring me back into the game either.

My guess is either a collision that's already active on the first frame, or the lose state not being reset between runs. I genuinely couldn't evaluate the gameplay because I never got to play it.

If you can reproduce and fix that start bug it's worth reposting, because the presentation is likeable and I'd come back to try it properly.
